CONDITION
NOTE:
• When error occurs, error message "CHECK TAPE" is displayed in the
LCD.
• Cassette tape is worn out.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Tape wear
• Cassette deck malfunction

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
Yes Go to the next step.

Verify condition of the cassette tape
when the error occurs.
Is the cassette tape normal?
No Replace the cassette tape and go to the next step.
Yes
Replace the cassette deck. (See AUDIO UNIT
DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY .)

Clear the DTC, and then insert a
normal cassette tape.
Play the cassette tape for 20 s or more
.
Is DTC 00: Er04 displayed?
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
