3.43. Removing the starter housing will also allow
access to the ignition module. If the ignition
module is removed for any reason, the air-gap
must be adjusted with the flywheel securely fas-
tened. See Figure 3.43.
3.44. Set the air gap to .014” using a non-magnetic
feeler gauge.
3.45. After the starter is assembled, carefully position
the starter housing, throttle cable, and stop
switch wires, and install the starter housing to
the engine. See Figure 3.45.

3.46. As the starter housing goes-on, connect the
short lengths of stop switch wire that are inside
the starter housing to the ignition module, and
clip the throttle cable into the hole in the engine
case. See Figure 3.46.
3.47. Secure the starter housing to the engine.
3.48. Install the clutch rotor and drum.
