Usage Features:

The slit lamp microscope offers several features for precise observation and ease of use:

  • Brightness Control: A brightness control knob allows continuous adjustment of illumination. Users are advised to avoid continuous operation at high settings to prolong bulb life.
  • Joystick Control: The joystick facilitates slight horizontal movement of the instrument and adjustment of the microscope's elevation. Rotating the joystick adjusts the height of the microscope.
  • Illumination Inclination: An illumination inclination lever provides four inclination stops from 5° to 20°, in 5° intervals, useful for oblique illumination in specific examinations.
  • Slit Width Control: A dedicated knob adjusts the slit width from 0mm to 12mm, with a scale indicating the width. At 14mm, the slit becomes a circle.
  • Illumination System Reset: A knob allows offsetting the light from the center of the microscope's field of view for indirect backlighting, and tightening it restores the light to the center.
  • Magnification Changer: Five different magnifications (6.3X, 10X, 16X, 25X, 40X) are available.
  • Yellow Filter Rod: A pull-up or press-down mechanism switches the yellow filter.
  • Slit Movement Platform: This platform moves up and down to open and close the slit, with a lower scale showing the angle between the slit and the vertical direction.
  • Slit Height Control: A knob adjusts the spot and slit height and can be swung horizontally to revolve the slit.
  • Filter Selection: A lever allows selection of different filters (white, heat-absorbing, light reduction, red-free, cobalt blue).
  • Aperture Slit Height and Display Window: Displays the diameter of the slit and aperture, offering 7 different sizes of circular spots (14, 10, 5, 3, 2, 1, 0.2) and continuous change.
  • Chin-rest Elevation Adjustment: A knob adjusts the height of the chin-rest.
  • Illumination Arm Locking: A knob locks the illumination system and observation system to rotate together; when loosened, the illumination system can rotate separately.
  • Microscope Arm Locking: Locks the observation system to prevent rotation.
  • Power Switch: A short press turns the device on, another short press enters standby mode, and a 3-second long press turns off all power.
  • Digital Module Set (S390L WDR): For the S390L WDR model, a digital module set can be installed for digital slit lamp photography. It includes a capture button for taking photos or starting/ending video recordings. The beam splitter lever must be pulled up to capture images. The background light source module provides additional LED and infrared illumination for improved digital photography quality.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for extending the lifespan and ensuring optimal performance of the slit lamp microscope.

  • Cleaning Lenses and Mirrors: Dust on lenses or mirrors should be gently wiped with a soft cotton cloth dampened with absolute alcohol. Avoid using hands, hard objects, or corrosive detergents to prevent surface damage. The recommended cleaning cycle for eyepiece area, lens, and mirror parts is every 2 months, or immediately if dust affects observation quality.
  • Cleaning Pad, Rails, and Shaft: These parts should be wiped clean with a soft cloth to ensure smooth horizontal and vertical movements. The recommended cleaning cycle is once a month.
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting Plastic Parts: Plastic components like the chin-rest and headrest belt should be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with a soluble detergent or water, then wiped with medical alcohol. Avoid abrasive cleaners. These parts, being in frequent contact with patients, should be cleaned and disinfected daily before first use.
  • Chin-rest Paper Replacement: Used chin-rest paper should be replaced by removing two fixing bolts, placing new paper, and re-installing the bolts.
  • Dust Cover: When the device is not in use, it should be turned off and covered with a dust cover to protect against dust and dirt, especially the spindle hole of the arm.
  • Slit Width Control Knob Tightness Adjustment: If the slit width control knob becomes too loose, a hex driver can be used to adjust the set screw on the right knob clockwise to achieve proper tightness. If too tight, rotate in the opposite direction.
  • Illumination System Tilt Adjustment: If the illumination system parts are too loose, hex screws on both sides can be tightened.
  • Rail Cover Removal: Instructions are provided for safely removing the rail cover for maintenance or access.
  • Warranty: A one-year free warranty service is provided upon confirmation with the "Product Warranty Card" included in the manual.
  • Product Lifecycle: The slit lamp has a life cycle of 4 years.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: A troubleshooting table is provided for common issues such as illumination problems, dark slit, or non-working fixation lamp, with recommended solutions. If problems persist, users are advised to contact the authorized distributor's after-sales service department.
