Why is the welding electrode burning back all the time on my Meec Tools Welding System?
- RRachel LawrenceAug 15, 2025
The welding electrode might be burning back due to several reasons: - The welding tip has been held too near the workpiece. - There's an intermittent interruption in the welding circuit, possibly due to a loose or damaged contact tip (tighten or replace it), an incorrect size of contact tip (replace it), a corroded welding electrode or casing (replace it), or damaged feed rollers (replace them). - Incorrect roller pressure: Increase the pressure until slight pressure from a finger does not stop the feeding of the welding electrode. - Pressure roller jams: Check that the rollers rotate freely. Lubricate or replace as necessary. - The welding electrode is entangled on the coil.
