Question and Answer IconNeed help?

Do you have a question about the Menzer VCH 530 PRO and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes a wet/dry vacuum cleaner, available in two models: VCH 530 PRO and VCH 550 PRO. It provides comprehensive instructions for operation, maintenance, and safety.

Function Description

The device is designed for both wet and dry vacuuming, capable of removing dry dirt, liquids, and various types of dust. It is classified as a dust class H vacuum cleaner according to EN 60335-2-69, making it suitable for vacuuming dry, non-flammable, and health-hazardous dusts from machines and devices. The VCH 550 PRO model includes a push handle and a drain hose for waste water, which are not present in the VCH 530 PRO.

The vacuum cleaner operates in two modes: industrial vacuum cleaner operation (power socket not used) and dust removal operation (power socket used). It features an automatic filter dedusting function, which cleans the flat fold filter every 15 seconds (AUTO MAX) or 60 seconds (AUTO MIN) using an air blast. A horn provides audible alerts: an intermittent tone sounds if the air speed drops below 20 m/s, and a continuous tone sounds if the cooling air filter is clogged. An anti-static system discharges static charges through an earthed connection nozzle, preventing sparks and electric shocks when using electrically conductive accessories.

Important Technical Specifications

The vacuum cleaner operates on a mains voltage of 220-240 V at a frequency of 50-60 Hz. Both models have a nominal power of 1200 W and a maximum power of 1380 W. The power rating of the device socket (EU) is 25-2200 W. The VCH 530 PRO has a tank content of 30 liters and a fluid filling quantity of 17 liters. The VCH 550 PRO has a larger tank content of 50 liters and a fluid filling quantity of 35 liters. Both models offer a maximum air quantity of 143 m³/h and a maximum depression of 23.7 kPa (237 mbar) with a 35 mm diameter, 4.0 m long suction hose. The typical operating weight for the VCH 530 PRO is 14.2 kg, while the VCH 550 PRO weighs 19.3 kg. The dimensions (length x width x height) are 560 x 370 x 580 mm for the VCH 530 PRO and 640 x 370 x 1045 mm for the VCH 550 PRO. The filter area of the flat fold filter is 0.5 m² for both. The suction hose diameter can be adjusted to 21, 27, 32, 35, or 40 mm, and the hose length is 4.0 or 5.0 m. Noise emissions are measured at a sound pressure level (LpA) of 69 dB(A) for the VCH 530 PRO and 68 dB(A) for the VCH 550 PRO, with an uncertainty (KpA) of 2 dB(A). Hand-arm vibration values are less than 2.5 m/s², with an uncertainty (K) of 0.2 m/s². The power cord type for both models is H07RN-F 3x1.5 mm².

Usage Features

Before initial startup, users must unpack the device and install accessories as shown in illustration B. The suction hose can be connected to a suction nozzle or directly to a dust-generating device. The suction power can be adjusted continuously using a rotary control. When working with power tools, the vacuum cleaner automatically switches on and off with the tool, with a startup delay of up to 0.5 seconds and an after-running time of up to 15 seconds. The minimum volume flow for the suction hose cross-section can be set via a turn switch, which is crucial for adapting to different processing machines. For dry vacuuming, the device requires a safety filter bag (order numbers 37138452 for VCH 530 PRO, 37138453 for VCH 550 PRO) or a dust bag with cable ties (order number 37138451). The use of a dust collection bag is legally required for dust class H. For wet vacuuming, the brush strips of the floor nozzle must be replaced with rubber squeegees (illustration F), and the suction connection must be closed with a plug (illustration G). The safety filter bag or dust bag must always be removed during wet vacuuming. The VCH 550 PRO model allows waste water to be drained via a dedicated drain hose (illustration L). It is recommended to switch off the "Automatic filter dedusting" function when vacuuming wet dirt or primarily water. The device automatically switches off when the maximum fluid level is reached, but continuous monitoring is required for non-conductive liquids.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the device's longevity and safe operation. Simple maintenance tasks can be performed by the user, such as cleaning the device's surface and the inside of the container with a moist cloth. Silicone-containing cleaning agents should be avoided as they can damage plastic parts. The flat fold filter (PTFE H, order number 37138448) should be replaced when necessary. This involves turning fastening pins, opening the filter cover, removing the old filter, and installing a new one, ensuring it fits snugly (illustrations R, S). Used filters must be disposed of in dust-tight bags according to statutory regulations. Safety filter bags (illustrations C, D, H, I, J) and dust bags (illustrations E, K) also need to be replaced when full or when vacuuming wet substances. The cooling air filter should be cleaned or replaced if it becomes clogged (illustration T). The electrodes, which are essential for the automatic shut-off function during wet vacuuming, should be cleaned with a brush (illustration A). Industrial vacuum cleaners and dust removal devices must be serviced at least once a year by a qualified expert, with test results provided upon request. The device should be stored in a dry room and secured against unauthorized use (illustration Q). During transport, the device's weight must be considered, and it must be securely fastened to prevent slipping or overturning.
