Demisting

You should only select the demisting
function until the windscreen is clear again.
i
Do not make any other settings when the
demisting function is activated.
You can use the following settings to demist
the windscreen, e.g. when it is covered with
frost:
X
To activate: press the y button.
The indicator lamp in the y button is lit.
Thermatic automatically switches to the
following functions:
R
Cooling with dehumidification on
R
High airflow
R
High temperature
R
Air distribution to the windscreen and
front side windows
R
Air-recirculation mode off

You can change the settings for temper-
ature and airflow. The other settings of the
demisting function are retained.
X
To deactivate: press the y button.
The indicator lamp in the y button goes
off. The previously selected settings come
into effect again. Cooling with dehumidifi-
cation remains active. Air-recirculation
mode remains deactivated.

Press the U button.
The indicator lamp in the U button is lit.
The indicator lamp in the y button goes
off. Airflow and air distribution are set to
automatic mode.
Windows misted up
Windows misted up on the inside

Activate automatic mode ( Y page 160).
If the windows are still misted up:
X
Activate the demisting function
( Y page 162).
Windscreen misted up on the outside
X
Switch on the windscreen wipers.
X
Close the centre air vents.
X
Press the Z button repeatedly until the
Y or a setting appears in display

You should only select this setting until
the windscreen is clear again.
Air-recirculation mode
You can deactivate the flow of fresh air if
unpleasant odours are entering the vehicle
from outside. No more fresh air will be taken
in and the air inside the vehicle will be recir-
culated.

Risk of accident
Only switch over to air-recirculation mode
briefly at low outside temperatures. Other-
wise, the windows could mist up, thus
impairing visibility and endangering your-
self and others. This may obstruct your view
of the traffic situation, thereby causing an
accident.

To activate: press the , button.
The indicator lamp in the , button is lit.

Air-recirculation mode is activated auto-
matically at high outside temperatures.
When air-recirculation mode is activated
automatically, the indicator lamp in
the , button goes off.
