What to do if the Merck Mixer motor/mixing head does not rotate?
    • K
      kimberlycamachoAug 13, 2025
If the motor or mixing head of your Merck Mixer isn't rotating, first check the power supply to ensure it's properly connected. If the power is fine, the overload protection might have tripped; in this case, verify the amp value setting and the ambient temperature. Lastly, check for and remove any heavy buildup of particles stuck to the magnets, then clean the unit.

Why is the outer drive head on my Merck EMD Millipore NovAseptic scratching the tank plate?
    • K
      Katherine ThompsonAug 16, 2025
If the outer drive head of your Merck Mixer is scratching the tank plate, ensure the drive unit is correctly installed. If it is, check for and remove any particles stuck to the magnets. Also, review the tank plate welding instructions and verify tolerances with appropriate gauges to correct any deformation. If the shaft or hole-shaft in the gearbox is bent, or the outer drive head is loose, contact Technical Service.

What causes magnetic disconnection of the mixing head in a Merck Mixer?
    • C
      clarkwesleyAug 20, 2025
If the mixing head of your Merck Mixer is decoupling (magnetic disconnection), consider these factors: * Review the guidelines for starting the mixer to ensure the correct order of substance addition and avoid dry running. * Inspect male bearing and tank plate for damage. If it is undamaged, reinstall the bearing and check rotation direction of the mixing head. * Increase the ramp time. * Remove any particles stuck to the magnets.

What causes the mixing head of my Merck EMD Millipore NovAseptic to scratch against the tank plate?
    • M
      Matthew MullinsAug 25, 2025
If the mixing head of your Merck Mixer is scratching against the tank plate, it could be due to several reasons. The male bearing might be worn out and need replacement. Alternatively, the female bearing holder could be damaged, requiring repair of the mixing head. If the male bearing is loose, remove it, inspect for damage, and if undamaged, reinstall, checking the mixing head's rotation direction. Also, remove any particles stuck to the magnets. Finally, review the tank plate welding instructions and verify tolerances to correct any deformation.

    Crystal CooperAug 27, 2025
Why does my Merck Mixer have a high amp value?
    • C
      chavezlindseyAug 27, 2025
If your Merck Mixer is showing a high amp value, the ambient temperature might be too high, so try chilling the environment. Also, the motor could be mechanically overloaded, so check all transmissions.
  • T
    Tracy SmithAug 31, 2025
Why is the mixing head on my Merck EMD Millipore NovAseptic Mixer running eccentrically?
    • R
      Roberta MillerSep 1, 2025
If your Merck Mixer's mixing head is running eccentrically, the male bearing might not be properly placed. Remove the male bearing, inspect it and the tank plate for damage. If there's no damage, reinstall the bearing, checking the rotation direction of the mixing head. Alternatively, the bearings could be worn out, requiring replacement of the male bearing or repair of the mixing head.

What causes an abnormal noise in my Merck Mixer?
    • T
      Terry GilmoreSep 4, 2025
If your Merck Mixer is making an abnormal or rumbling noise, it could be due to a deep vortex. Try reducing the speed and ensure the mixing head is fully covered with liquid at all times. Cavitation might also be the cause, so investigate the pressure, temperature, and speed. Another possible cause is dry running; in that case, review the guidelines under “Operation /Starting the Mixer.”

    Donna MorganSep 8, 2025
Why is my Merck EMD Millipore NovAseptic Mixer losing running speed?
    • K
      Kristen MartinezSep 8, 2025
If your Merck Mixer is losing running speed, start by checking the power supply to ensure it's correct. Also, verify the fuses to make sure no phases are missing (AC).
