conditions may exceed wind force 8 (Beaufort
scale) and wave heights of 4 m (13 ft) and
higher.
B Offshore
Designed for offshore voyages where
conditions may experience wind force 8
(Beaufort scale) and wave heights up to 4 m
(13 ft).
C Inshore
Designed for voyages in coastal waters, large
bays, estuaries, lakes and rivers where
conditions may experience wind force 6
(Beaufort scale) and wave heights up to 2 m
(6.5 ft).
D
Sheltered
waters
Designed for voyages on sheltered coastal
waters, small bays, small lakes, rivers, and
canals where conditions may experience wind
force 4 (Beaufort scale) and wave heights up to
0.5 m (1.5 ft).
