The miniQloset is a multi-channel electric meter designed for revenue-grade residential metering in multi-tenant buildings. It is available in two configurations: a 2-element (2EL) model with 24 metering points (2P3W, p/n QBRICK-MQ-2P24M) and a 3-element (3EL) model with 16 metering points (3P4W, p/n QBRICK-MQ-3P16M). The device is UL (UL61010-1-2012, UL61010-2-030:2012), CSA (CSA C22.2 NO 61010-1, CSA C22.2 NO 61010-2-030), and ANSI approved (ANSI-C12.20:2015), ensuring its compliance with safety and performance standards.

Function Description:

The miniQloset measures various electrical parameters in real-time, accumulates energy data, and records interval data. It provides per-metering point and per-channel measurements for:

Real-Time Parameters: Voltage (V), Current (A), Active Power (kW), Reactive Power (kVAr), Apparent Power (kVA), Power Factor, and Frequency (Hz).
Accumulated Energy Data: Active Energy + (kWh), Active Energy - (kWh), Inductive Reactive Energy + (kVARh), Capacitive Reactive Energy - (kVARh), Inductive Reactive Energy - (kVARh), Capacitive Reactive Energy + (kVARh), Apparent Energy + (kVAh), and Apparent Energy - (kVAh).
Interval Data (5 min records): Active Energy + (kW), Active Energy - (kW), Inductive Reactive Energy + (kVAR), Capacitive Reactive Energy - (kVAR), Inductive Reactive Energy - (kVAR), Capacitive Reactive Energy + (kVAR), Apparent Energy + (kVA), and Apparent Energy - (kVA).

The meter also features an event log that records up to 1000 Sequence of Events (SOE) records for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Pulse output ports are available for external accuracy verification. Communication is facilitated via MODBUS RTU/RS-485 protocol, with 2-wire RS-485 In/Out connections for easy installation. An optional 900 MHz wireless radio (QRadio) is available for remote meter locations.

Usage Features:

The miniQloset features an integrated 1.7-inch LCD screen for displaying metering and troubleshooting information. Four directional arrow keys and a central selection button allow for data navigation and setting configurations. The display provides real-time power diagnostics on each phase. The meter can store up to 180 days of metering records at 5-minute intervals (15-minute readings are provided by the QTao Meter Data Hub). For data access, the miniQloset can connect to a QTao meter data hub or a third-party building management system via RS-485. Multiple miniQloset units can be daisy-chained to a single data hub. Installation involves mounting the meter using either fold-out feet for wall/panel fastening or a 35 mm DIN rail clip. Terminal access is protected by plastic flaps secured with lead seal screws, offering optional hardware tamper protection. Wiring includes communication, reference voltage (V-REF) input, CT inputs, and auxiliary power supply (V-PWR). V-REF lines must be between 14-20 AWG and rated for the appropriate voltage, with local disconnects and branch service protection rated for a minimum of 4 Amps at 240V. CT secondary conductors must be shorted together until connected to the meter to prevent dangerous voltages and damage. The meter is designed for use with ANSI 0.1 class 100:0.1 Amp and 200:0.1 Amp current transformers (CTs).

Maintenance Features:

The miniQloset does not require routine maintenance. In case of system infrastructure maintenance, the meter should be powered off. Troubleshooting guidelines are provided for common issues such as the meter not powering on (checking V-PWR wiring, fuses, voltage connections) and communication problems (checking COMM indicator LED, RS-485 wiring). For incorrect meter readings, steps include verifying voltage connections at V-REF terminals, checking CT secondary connections, CT polarity, and CT installation on the correct phase.
