This document describes a range of portable liquidizers (also referred to as hand blenders or immersion blenders) under the METRO PROFESSIONAL brand, specifically models GSM1010, GSM1015, GSM1015D, and GSM1060. These devices are designed for professional use in various commercial settings such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals, bakeries, catering, and general commercial applications, but not for continuous industrial manufacturing.
Function Description:
The portable liquidizers are designed for blending and liquidizing food items. Each model consists of a motor block and a detachable blender arm (for GSM1015D and GSM1060 models) or a fixed blender arm (for GSM1010 and GSM1015 models). The motor block houses the control buttons and the motor, which is equipped with a thermal protection device to prevent overheating due to prolonged use or overload. The blender arm contains the sharpened blades for processing food.
Important Technical Specifications:
The materials used in the construction of these machines comply with current food regulations.
All models operate on a 230 V / 50-60 Hz / 1~ electrical supply.

The airborne noise emitted by the machine, measured on a specimen machine at a distance of 1m, is lower than 80dB(A).
Usage Features:
- Safety Devices: All models are equipped with a safety device to prevent accidental activation. To start the machine, two buttons must be pressed simultaneously. For GSM1010, GSM1015, and GSM1015D, these are the "On" button (6) and the safety button (7). For GSM1060, these are the "On" button (9) and the safety button (11).
- Variable Speed (GSM1015D only): This model includes a control button (12) to modify the blade speed.
- Locking Feature (GSM1060 only): If the locking button (10) is pressed while the machine is operating, it will remain locked and continue to function even if all other buttons are released. To unlock, the "On" button (9) must be pressed again.
- Blender Arm Assembly: For models with detachable arms (GSM1015D and GSM1060), the blender arm attachment (2) is guided into the motor body (1) and turned anti-clockwise until firmly attached.
- Operation Guidelines:
- Always ensure the mains voltage matches the voltage indicated on the nameplate before plugging in.
- Never operate the machine empty or outside a container.
- The blender arm should be submerged up to a maximum of 2/3 of its length.
- To avoid splashes, always work with a stable container and submerge the arm before starting, and do not remove it until it has fully stopped.
- The maximum working tilt should not exceed 30°.
- The bowl must always rest firmly on a flat and stable surface.
- Never operate the appliance on a surface with an inclination of over 10 degrees from the horizontal plane.
- Never place hands or any other utensil into the container while the appliance is working to avoid personal or material damage.
- Always disconnect the machine before removing the blender arm, and before any cleaning, inspection, or repair work.
- Do not use the machine if the cable or plug is damaged; contact a qualified technician for repair.
- Do not use accessories not explicitly authorized by the seller.
- The appliance is not designed to be used by persons (including children over 8 years old) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or those lacking experience or knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person who understands the risks. Children should not play with the appliance.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning and Hygiene:
- Before first use, and always with the machine unplugged, clean the food-contact area with lukewarm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Perform multiple cleaning cycles before first use.
- After each use, submerge the blender arm up to 2/3 of its height in a container with hot water (35-45 °C) and run the appliance for a few seconds.
- Wash the tube (5) and the blade with hot water (35-40 °C) and a multi-purpose liquid detergent (e.g., Ivory Liquid) at a ratio of 1 part detergent to 10 parts water, leaving these parts submerged for 30 minutes.
- Remove soap residue from the agitators by rinsing with hot water (35-45 °C).
- After rinsing, rinse the element under clean running water (at least 5 liters) to remove all remaining soap and disinfectant.
- Allow to dry at room temperature.
- The motor block (4) should only be cleaned with a damp cloth; never wash it under running water. If water accidentally enters the motor block, do not reconnect the machine and contact an authorized technical service.
- Do not use abrasive detergents (bleach, nitric acid, etc.), stainless steel scourers, or scrubbers, as these can cause rust or material deterioration.
- Regular Checks:
- Regularly check the status of the lower seal of the blender arm. If signs of deterioration are observed, contact the authorized repair service.
- The blade will deteriorate over time and needs to be replaced regularly.
- Periodically verify the watertightness of the blender arm.
- Cable Replacement: If the power cable is damaged and needs replacement, it must be performed by a METRO-qualified technical service.
- Wall Support: Each device is supplied with a wall support for easy installation in the kitchen.
Troubleshooting:
- Appliance does not start:
- Check if the machine is plugged in and if the electrical supply at the socket is working correctly.
- Ensure the "On" and safety buttons are pressed simultaneously (refer to figures 3, 4, and 5 for specific models).
- If the liquidizer is hot, the thermal protector may have been activated. Wait a few minutes for it to cool down.
- If the problem persists, consult METRO technical service.
- Appliance stops during operation:
- The motor's thermal protection device may have activated due to overload.
- If the appliance is hot, unplug it and wait a few minutes for the motor to cool down and the thermal probe to reset (GSM1060 models only).
- If not, check the electrical supply at the socket.
- If the problem persists, call a METRO technical service.
