Whenthevehicleisinmotion,donotswitch
offtheignitionorremovethekey,otherwise
thesteeringwheelmaybelocked,makingit
impossibletoturnthevehicle.
DONOTremoveortouchthekeywhilethe
carisinmotion.

Theignitionswitchislocatedontherightsideofthe
steeringcolumn.Functionofeachpositionisasfollows:
Position0(LOCK/OFF)
•Thekeycanbeinsertedorremoved.
•Aftertheengineisstoppedandthekeyisremoved,
turnthesteeringwheeltoonesidetolockthesteering
wheel.
PositionI(1)(ACC)
•Theengineisnotstartedandthekeycannotbe
removed.
•Individualelectricalequipmentandaccessoriescannow
beoperated,e.g.wipers,electricwindows.
PositionII(2)(ON/RUN)
•Allinstruments,warninglightsandelectricalcircuitsare
operational.
•Whenthevehicleisstarted,theengineruns.
PositionIII(3)(START/CRANKING)
•Startengine.Whentheengineisstarting,some
electricalequipmentwillbeisolatedduringcranking.
•Releasethekeyimmediatelywhenenginestarts,andthe
ignitionswitchwillreturntopositionIIautomatically.
