soundstoindicatethatthekeyisnotremoved.
Note:Whenthesteeringwheelislockedandthekey
cannotbeturnedfromposition0topositionI,please
turnthesteeringwheelslightlywhilstturningthekey
tounlockthesteeringwheel.
StartingtheEngine
Neverstartorleavetheenginerunningin
anunventilatedbuilding-exhaustgasesare
poisonousandcontaincarbonmonoxide,
whichcancauseunconsciousnessandmay
evenbefatal.
Catalyticconverterscanbedamagedifthe
wrongfuelisused,orifanenginemisre
occurs.Beforestartingtheengine,please
readcarefullytheprecautionsdetailedunder
thesection"CatalyticConverter".
StartingtheEngine:
1Switchoffallunnecessaryelectricalequipment
(includingtheairconditioning);
2Applytheparkingbrake(referto"BrakeSystem"of
thischapter);
3Forautotransmissionvehicle,makesuretheshiftlever
isinPorNposition.
