HillStart(StartAssist)
Incasesofahillstart,wherethevehiclehasbeenstationary
forsometime,thefootbrakehasbeenreleasedandthe
electronicparkingbrakeapplied,thestartingaidfunction
oftheelectronicparkingbrake(EPB)canbeusedto
preventthevehiclefromrollingbackwards.Withthe
seatbeltsafelyfastened,pressthefootbrake,applythe
electronicparkingbrakesystem,andselectthedesired
gear(D/R/W/S),thenreleasethefootbrake;pressthe
acceleratorpedaltoengagevehicledrive,theelectronic
parkingbrakesystemwillautomaticallybedeactivated.

DownhillDriving
Repeatedlypressingthebrakepedalmay
resultinbrakeoverheat,therebycausingthe
degradationofbrakeperformanceoreven
brakefailure.
Ifdrivingdownahillforlongdistances,itisadvisedtomove
thegearshiftlevertotherightandselecttheTiptronic
mode.Thisallowsmanualgearselection.Usealowergear
selectiontoaidtheslowingofthevehicleandthusavoiding
over-useofthebrakes.Ifathresholdisreached,thevehicle
willautomaticallyshiftup,inthesecasesuseofthebrakes
toslowthevehicleisnecessary,atthesametimere-select
thelowergear.
