STARTING&DRIVING
Pressingthe"Set"button(6ingure)willactivatetheASL
systemandsetthespeedlimit.TheASLindicatorlampin
theinstrumentpackwillilluminate.
Whenactivatedifthevehiclespeedisgreaterthanthe
userinputtedtargetspeedthesystemwillimmediately
begintoslowthevehicletotheinputtedtarget.
KickDown
Withthesystemactiveifitisnecessarytoacceleratethe
vehiclee.g.overtakingmaneuver,thesystemcanbeover
riddenbypressingtheacceleratorpedalpassedaKick
downposition.Thekickdownpositionisapproximately
80%oftheoverallacceleratorpedaltravel.Oncethekick
downpositionhasbeenreachedtheASLsystementersa
standbystateandreturnsthevehicleoperationtotheuser,
acceleratingaccordingtothedemandfromtheaccelerator
pedal.
Afterakickdownevent,oncethevehiclespeedhas
droppedbelowthetargetspeedoriginallycontrolledto,
theASLsystemwillautomaticallyresumeandcontrolthe
vehicletothetargetspeedretainedwithinthesystem.
SuspendingASL
WhenASLisactiveto,suspendthefeaturepressthe"Set"
button(6)andtheASLsystemwillexittothestandbystate
returningcontroltotheacceleratorpedal.
Note:Whensuspendedviathe"Set"button(6)the
previouslyinputtedtargetspeedwillberetained
withinthesystemmemoryinthecasethatthesystem
isreactivated.
ResumingASL
Ifthesystemhasbeenplacedinastandbystatewitha
retainedtargetspeedthesystemcanbereactivatedtothe
previouslystoredtargetspeedbypressingthe"Set"button.
Note:AftertheignitionisswitchedOFF,thetarget
speedpreviouslystoredwillbeerased.Intheinterest
ofeconomyandsafety,itisrecommendedtoselect
differenttargetspeedsaccordingtodifferentdriving
androadconditions.
OvershootofT argetSpeedandWarning
Thesystemisdesignedtocontrolthevehiclespeedto
within+/-1.5mph(2km/h)oftheinputtedtargetspeed.
