Overview

The MICHELANGELO CRISP TOP is a versatile kitchen appliance designed to enhance the functionality of your existing 6-quart or 8-quart electric pressure cooker. It acts as a lid that transforms your pressure cooker into an air fryer, broiler, and crisper, offering an all-in-one cooking solution.

Function Description:

The Crisp Top allows you to air fry, broil, and crisp food, providing a fun and easy way to achieve desired textures for various dishes. It is specifically designed to be compatible with most brands of 6-quart (22cm diameter) and 8-quart (24cm diameter) inner cooking pots of electric pressure cookers. The device delivers safety and satisfaction, enabling users to enjoy a wider range of cooking methods.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: MICHLINCRT-01
  • Power Supply: AC 120V ~ 60Hz
  • Rated Power: 1000W
  • Weight: 3.66 lbs
  • Dimensions: 10 × 10 × 5.5 inches
  • Maximum Temperature: 420°F (215°C)
  • Maximum Cook Time: 60 minutes

Usage Features:

The Crisp Top features a user-friendly control panel with seven buttons: temperature, time, +/-, menu, pause, and stop. It also includes eight food logos that represent different types of food, simplifying the selection process. An LED screen displays the set time and temperature.

To use the Crisp Top:

  1. Ensure your 6-8 quart electric pressure cooker is powered off, unplugged, and placed on a flat surface with its inner pot correctly in place.
  2. Insert the provided Crisp Top trivet into the pressure cooker pot. If needed, place the fryer basket on the trivet.
  3. Arrange food onto the basket, ensuring no food extends above the rim of the inner pot.
  4. Position the Crisp Top on top of the inner pot and plug it into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
  5. Press the "menu" button to select the desired function.
  6. Use the "temperature +/-" buttons to set the temperature and the "time +/-" buttons to set the cooking duration.
  7. Finally, press the "start" button to begin cooking.

Interactive Pause Feature:

The handle of the Crisp Top serves as a pause mechanism. Lifting the handle will automatically pause the cooking process. This is useful for flipping food or shaking the basket. When paused, place the Crisp Top on the provided heat-resistant silicone pad. To resume cooking, lower the handle back into the correct position (you will hear clicks) and press the "start" button. The Crisp Top will remember your preset settings for a few seconds, allowing for a quick restart.

Sound Control:

The device emits a beep when buttons are pressed. To silence the beeps, press and hold the "pause" button for a few minutes until "SOFF" appears on the panel. To re-enable the beeps, press and hold the "pause" button again until "S" is displayed. Pressing and holding the "pause" button for several seconds will restore the original default settings.

Visual Cooking Indicator:

The Crisp Top light will turn on and off during cooking, allowing you to monitor the food's progress.

Broil/Crisp/Air Fryer/Dehydrate Functionality:

For foods that require broiling, crisping, air frying, or dehydrating after pressure cooking, or as a standalone process:

  1. Unplug the pressure cooker after releasing pressure and canceling all programs. Remove the pressure cooker lid.
  2. Transfer cooked food to the broiler basket and remove any liquid from the pot.
  3. Return the inner pot to the pressure cooker base and place the stainless trivet inside. Position the basket on the trivet.
  4. Place the Crisp Top on top of the inner pot and plug it into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
  5. Press the "menu" button and set the desired temperature and time.
  6. Press the "start" button to begin the process.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Wait until the Crisp Top has completely cooled before cleaning. Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe down the interior of the lid.
  • Discoloration: The perforated steel heating element cover may become discolored over time due to high heat exposure. This is normal for stainless steel and does not indicate damage or affect performance. To restore its shine, dip a clean cloth in white vinegar and rub it into the steel, then dry or buff with a clean dry cloth.
  • Dishwasher Safe Accessories: The trivet, basket, silicone pad, and tongs are dishwasher safe.
  • Important Cleaning Precaution: NEVER remove the perforated steel cover, screws, or dismantle the lid in any way when cleaning, as this can damage the Crisp Top and void your warranty.

Safety Safeguards:

The manual emphasizes several critical safety precautions:

  • Never use an extension cord.
  • Always use the Crisp Top with the inner pressure cooker cooking pot in place, and only with compatible 6-8 quart electric pressure cooker pots.
  • Never use on or near hot gas, ceramic, induction, or electric burners, or in an oven.
  • Never move the electric pressure cooker while the Crisp Top is in use.
  • For household use only; do not use outdoors or in moving vehicles.
  • Do not tamper with, disassemble, or remove any portion of the Crisp Top.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or scouring pads.
  • Do not cover air intake or outlet vents during use.
  • Only use provided or approved accessories.
  • Never put sealed canned food or plastic bags/wrap in the pot when using the Crisp Top.
  • Do not connect to an external timer switch or remote-control system.
  • Never immerse the cord or Crisp Top in water or any other liquid.
  • Always ensure the Crisp Top is properly positioned and the electric pressure cooker is off and unplugged before use.
  • Always use caution when operating, especially around children or individuals with limited physical or mental abilities.
  • After use, always set the hot Crisp Top on the provided silicone trivet or another heat-resistant surface until it cools down.
  • Provide adequate space (at least 150mm from wall side) for air circulation.
  • Ensure the Crisp Top is clean before use and the power cord does not contact hot surfaces.
  • The Crisp Top is for countertop use only on a level, clean, and dry surface.
  • Use protective gloves or mittens and stainless steel tongs when handling hot food and surfaces.
  • Regularly inspect the Crisp Top and its power cord/plug for damage.
  • Always use a thermometer to verify food is cooked to recommended temperatures.
  • Ensure no programs are running before unplugging.
  • Unplug and cool down the Crisp Top before cleaning or storing.
