R.O. DRINKING WATER SYSTEM
MODEL T.F.C. - 435
INSTALLATION, OPERATION & SERVICE MANUAL
IMPORTANT NOTICES:
This reverse osmosis system contains replaceable treatment components critical for effective performance. It is the user's
responsibility to, and the manufacturer strongly recommends that the user, periodically test the product water to verify the system is
performing satisfactorily. See the test kit(s) for sampling instructions.
This system is acceptable for treatment of influent concentrations of no more than 27 mg/L nitrate and 3 mg/L nitrite in
combination measured as N and is certified for nitrate/nitrite reduction only for water supplies with a pressure of 280 kPa (40 psig)
or greater.
This system conforms to NSF/ANSI Standard 58 for pentavalent arsenic reduction. See the Performance Data Sheet and Arsenic
Facts section for an explanation of reduction performance.
DO NOT USE WITH WATER THAT IS MICROBIOLOGICALLY UNSAFE OR OF UNKNOWN QUALITY,
WITHOUT ADEQUATE DISINFECTION BEFORE OR AFTER THE SYSTEM.
Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts.
Drink With Confidence!
Tested and Certified by NSF International against
NSF/ANSI Standard 58 for the reduction of the claims
specified on the Performance Data Sheet.

What to do if I have low pressure at the dispensing faucet of my Microline Water Filtration System?
    • D
      Dr. Cassandra KochAug 22, 2025
Several factors can lead to low pressure. The in-line activated carbon post filter might be plugged, so replace it. The air precharge in the holding tank could be too low; empty the tank and adjust the air pressure to 5–7 psig. The holding tank valve may be partially closed, so fully open it. The dispensing faucet itself might be out of adjustment or faulty, requiring repair or replacement. Heavy water use can deplete the holding tank; allow it to refill, or consider adding a second holding tank to increase storage capacity.

How to fix tastes and odors in the product water from my Microline Water Filtration System?
    • P
      Pamela JenkinsAug 27, 2025
Unpleasant tastes and odors can arise from a few sources. The activated carbon post filter may be exhausted, requiring replacement. Foreign matter in the holding tank necessitates cleaning, flushing, and sanitizing the system, along with replacing the filters. Ensure the product water and drain water lines are not reversed by correcting the plumbing. Dissolved gasses in the feed water may also contribute; pretreat the feed water to remove these gasses. An increase in product water TDS can also affect taste and odor.

What to do if drain water overflows at the air gap faucet of my Microline Water Filtration System?
    • H
      Heidi PrinceAug 28, 2025
Overflowing drain water typically indicates a blockage or misalignment. Check if the air gap is blocked and clear it. Inspect the drain tubing for clogs and clear them. Ensure the drain clamp hole is aligned with the hole in the drain pipe. If the drain flow rate is excessive, replace the drain restrictor.

What does the amber light on my Microline Water Filtration System's optional water quality monitor mean?
    • D
      David WoodAug 30, 2025
An amber light indicates a potential issue with water quality. If the system hasn't been used for an extended period, empty the storage tank, wait 15 minutes for the system to begin making water, and then test the water quality again. The filters may be plugged, or the membrane may be fouled or exhausted, requiring replacement.

How to fix faucet leaks or drips in my Microline Water Filtration System?
    • S
      Sarah PottsSep 1, 2025
Leaks can occur in several areas. If the spout is leaking, adjust the faucet by turning the tee bar just below the handle to provide a small amount of free play in the handle when shut off. If O-rings are bad, repair or replace the faucet. For leaks from the base of the delivery tube, replace the O-ring. If the leak is beneath the handle, the O-rings are bad, so repair or replace the faucet.

How to troubleshoot fitting leaks in my Microline Water Filtration System?
    • J
      Jamie BrownSep 3, 2025
Before disconnecting any tubing or replacing any fitting, close the feed water saddle valve and relieve pressure. Try recutting the tubing and re-inserting it into the fitting to see if that resolves the leak. If pipe threads are leaking, remove the fitting and retape with Teflon tape.

What causes high TDS in Microline Water Filtration System product water?
    • C
      Charles HarrisSep 9, 2025
High Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the product water can be caused by reversed Product Water and Drain Water lines (correct the plumbing), a clogged Drain Restrictor (clear or replace it), or a plugged drain orifice in the Dispensing Faucet (clear or replace the faucet). Additionally, a malfunctioning ASO Valve (repair or replace the ASO Valve Components) or a new, incompletely rinsed In-Line or Activated Carbon Prefilter (flush with several full tanks of Product Water) can contribute to this issue. An increase in Feed Water TDS will also increase Product Water TDS.

How to fix tastes and odors in Microline T.F.C. - 435 product water?
    • J
      Jared WilliamsSep 12, 2025
Tastes and odors in the product water may be due to an exhausted In-Line or Activated Carbon Prefilter (replace filters). Foreign matter in the Holding Tank can also cause this issue (clean, flush, and sanitize the system, and replace the filters). Ensure the Product Water and Drain Water lines are not reversed (correct the plumbing). Dissolved gasses in the Feed Water may also be the reason (pretreat Feed Water to remove dissolved gasses). Also, consider the possibility of increased Product Water TDS.

What does the amber light mean on my Microline water quality monitor?
    • B
      Brian DanielsSep 13, 2025
An amber light on the optional water quality monitor may indicate that the system hasn't been used for an extended period (empty the storage tank, wait 15 minutes for the system to begin making water, and test water quality again). It could also mean that the filters are plugged, or the membrane is fouled or exhausted (replace filters and/or membrane).

What to do if drain water overflows at the dispensing faucet of Microline T.F.C. - 435 Water Filtration Systems?
    • A
      Amanda HallSep 15, 2025
If drain water overflows at the dispensing faucet, check for a blocked Air Gap (clear it). Also, inspect the drain tubing for clogs (clear the tubing). Ensure the Drain Clamp hole is aligned correctly with the hole in the drain pipe. If the drain flow rate is excessive, consider replacing the Drain Restrictor.
