Charger is for indoor use only. Follow battery handling instructions and use recommended spare parts.
Disconnect power before maintenance. Do not use damaged units. High voltage can cause injury; only authorized personnel should open casing.
Hydrogen gas generated during charging can cause an explosion. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Charge batteries in well-ventilated areas, away from open fires or sparks.
Install charger indoors with a vapour barrier. Avoid blocking air intake of other chargers.
Use VOLTAGE and CURRENT knobs to set levels. Press SET button to view adjusted values.
Recondition batteries with low DC current for 2-14 days. Avoid over-heating the battery.
Example calculation for setting voltage and current for a 48V, 500Ah battery.
Connect SMP to battery, switch on, adjust voltage to 67.2V, and current to 4.0A.
Note that the charger limits output power to 800W.
