Improper use of batteries may result in battery uid leakage, overheating, or explosion. There
is a risk of explosion if batteries are replaced by an incorrect type. Use and replace only with
correct size and type of batteries. Released battery uid is corrosive and may be toxic. It can
cause skin and eye burns, and is harmful if swallowed. To reduce the risk of injury:
Keep batteries out of reach of children.
Do not heat, open, puncture, mutilate, or dispose of batteries in re.
Use only alkaline (not rechargeable) batteries for best performance.
Do not mix new and old batteries or batteries of different types.
Do not allow metal objects to touch the battery terminals on the device; they can
become hot and cause burns.
Remove the batteries if they are worn out or before storing your media remote for
an extended period of time.
If a battery leaks, remove all batteries, taking care to keep the leaked uid from
touching your skin or clothes. If uid from the battery comes into contact with skin
or clothes, ush skin with water immediately. Before inserting new batteries,
thoroughly clean the battery compartment with a damp paper towel, or follow the
battery manufacturers recommendations for cleanup.
Remove batteries by reversing insertion instructions below. Dispose of batteries in
accordance with local and national disposal regulations (if any).
To avoid pinching ngers when inserting, push only on the at surface of the
battery compartment cover.

Before your media remote can work with your TV, you need to program it for use with
your particular brand of TV. Two methods exist for programming your media remote:
manually entering your TV code or scanning to nd your TV code.
After 30 seconds of inactivity, the media remote will exit the TV programming mode.
Pressing any button besides Select, 0–9 or CH/PG returns the media remote to its original
mode and ends programming mode.
To enter a TV code:
1 Look up the code for your TV. See your TV instruction manual, or go to www.xbox.com/
mediaremote.
2 Press and hold the Mute and 5 buttons simultaneously for two seconds to enter TV
programming mode.
3 Enter the numeric code for your TV.
4 Press the Select button to save the code and exit.
When the correct code has been entered, you should be able to press the TV power
button and Volume button to control your TV. If it doesn’t work, return to step 2.

The media remote light will be solid green when in TV code programming mode.
The media remote light will briey turn off for each number you enter; only enter the
next number after the green light turns back on.
When you press Select, the media remote light will ash three times to conrm your
code. If it does not ash, an invalid code was entered, so return to step 2.
To scan for a TV code:
You can send a sequence of codes to discover the right code for your TV, if you do not
know the specic code.
1 Turn on your TV and point the media remote toward it.
2 Press and hold the Mute and 5 buttons simultaneously for two seconds to enter TV
programming mode.
3 Press the CH/PG + button repeatedly to send one code per button press from your
media remote to your TV. By pressing +, you advance the code each time.
4 When the correct code is sent from the media remote to your TV, your TV will turn off.
Press the Select button to conrm your code.
If your TV turns off but you then accidently continue to press CH + to continue past the
correct code, press CH – to decrease the code. Your TV will turn on again when you go
back to the correct code. Press the Select button to conrm your code.

The media remote light will be solid green when in TV code programming mode.
If you press CH/PG –, then CH/PG + (or CH/PG +, then CH/PG -) to change scan
direction and return to your original code during one TV programming mode scan,
the media remote will exit TV programming mode. Your remote will be set at the same
code it was at when you started TV programming.
Give enough time for the TV to respond to the sent command and turn off after you press
the CH/PG button. Some TVs take more time to react to off commands than other TVs.
When you press Select, the media remote light willash three times to conrm your code.
When the correct code has been entered, you should be able to press the TV power
button and Volume button to control your TV. If it doesn’t work, return to step 2.
To return media remote to default settings:
In default settings, the media remote will only control the Xbox 360 console. Volume and
mute buttons will control TV service through your Xbox 360 console.
1 Press and hold the Mute and 5 buttons simultaneously for two seconds to enter TV
programming mode.
2 Enter code 9999 and press Select.

multilingual audio tracks, multiple viewing angles, and slow-motion play. For more
information about supported features, see the DVD producers documentation. In rare
instances, certain DVDs may not operate properly. This is due primarily to variations in
