This document describes the Midea Air Conditioner Remote Controller, model CR034-RG36F (and variants RG36F/BG(C)EF, RG36F1/BG(C)EF). It provides an illustration of the remote controller and details its functions, specifications, and usage.

Function Description

The remote controller allows users to operate the air conditioner with various modes and settings. Key functions include:

• ON/OFF Button: Initiates or stops the air conditioner operation.
• MODE Button: Cycles through operation modes: AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT (for Cooling & Heating models only), and FAN.
• Swing Button (Horizontal): Controls the horizontal louver movement. A short press adjusts the louver angle by 6 degrees. Pressing for more than 2 seconds activates automatic up/down swing.
• Swing Button (Vertical): Controls the vertical louver movement. A short press adjusts the louver angle by 6 degrees. Pressing for more than 2 seconds activates automatic left/right swing. The indoor unit's temperature display shows "IIII" flashing four times during vertical louver swing activation and "LC" for 3 seconds when stopped.
• SLEEP/FRESH Button:
  • A short press (less than 2 seconds) activates/disables the SLEEP function.
  • Pressing for more than 2 seconds activates/disables the FRESH function. The SLEEP function automatically adjusts temperature (increases 1°C per hour for cooling, decreases 1°C per hour for heating for the first two hours, then holds for 5 hours before stopping) to maintain comfort and save energy. It is available in Cooling, Heating, and AUTO modes. The FRESH function, when activated, energizes an ionizer/plasma dust collector (depending on model) to remove pollen and impurities.
• TURBO/SELF CLEAN Button:
  • A short press (less than 2 seconds) activates/disables the TURBO function.
  • Pressing for more than 2 seconds activates/disables the SELF CLEAN function. The TURBO function allows the unit to reach the preset temperature in the shortest time, blowing strong cooling air at super high fan speed in cooling mode, or enabling fast heating with PTC (if applicable) in heating mode. The SELF CLEAN mode automatically cleans and dries the evaporator to keep it fresh.
• RESET Button: Resets all current settings to initial defaults.
• UP Button (∧/+): Increases setting temperature or hour during Timer setting.
• DOWN Button (∨/-): Decreases setting temperature or hour during Timer setting.
• SILENCE Button (For RG36F/BG(C)EF models): Activates the SILENCE function, which reduces indoor unit noise to the lowest level for a quiet environment.
• SILENCE/FP Button (For RG36F1/BG(C)EF models):
  • Activates/disables the SILENCE function (same as above).

• TIMER OFF Button: Initiates auto-off time sequence. Each press increases the setting by 30-minute increments (up to 10 hours), then 60-minute increments (up to 24 hours). Setting to 0:0 cancels the program.
• LED/FOLLOW ME Button:
  • A short press (less than 2 seconds) activates/disables the indoor unit's screen display (LED function).
  • Pressing for more than 2 seconds activates/disables the FOLLOW ME function. When active, the remote controller displays the actual temperature at its location and sends this signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes. The FOLLOW ME function is not available in DRY and FAN modes and is canceled if the operation mode is switched or the unit is turned off.
• LOCK Button: Locks all current settings, preventing any operation except unlocking.

• Battery Replacement:

  • Reattach the cover.
  • Note: Removing batteries erases all programming, requiring reprogramming after new batteries are inserted.
