Making coffee
It is extremely important to run a rinse cycle be-
fore the coffee system is used for the first time.
This will occur automatically if the rinse feature is
turned on in the Programming mode and the
machine is still cold.
When warming up the appliance, the display win-
dow will show:
Once hot, water will flush out of the coffee dispen-
sers.
If the Rinse feature has been turned off in the
Programming mode, use the Rinse/pre-warm button
as outlined in the Cleaning section to rinse the ma-
chine before its first use.
Warming the system and the cups
The pre-warm feature allows the system and the
cups to be pre-warmed to allow the flavor to de-
velop and be retained.
Turn the program selector to the On position (with
or without lighting).
If the program selector is already in this position
with the message Standby. . . shown in the dis-
play window, the machine is in the energy-saving
mode. Press ENTER to switch it into operation.
The following will appear in the display window:
