Function Description:

The Miele HS11 is a canister vacuum cleaner designed for daily cleaning of flooring in domestic households and similar residential environments. The vacuum cleaner is not intended for outdoor use, for vacuuming dry floor surfaces on people or animals, or for picking up burning, glowing, inflammable, or combustible materials, liquids, or damp dirt. It should also not be used to vacuum toner dust, as toner can conduct electricity. The appliance features a Miele filtration system consisting of three filters: a dustbag, a dust compartment filter (for motor protection), and an exhaust filter, all of which contribute to efficient cleaning and air filtration.

Important Technical Specifications:

The vacuum cleaner operates on a mains electricity supply, and users must ensure that the connection data on the data plate (voltage and frequency) match their local supply. For the UK, the mains electrical plug must be fitted with a 13 A fuse. For AU/NZ, it is supplied with a cable and moulded plug for connection to a 230V/50Hz AC single-phase supply. The fuse rating is quoted on the plug. The appliance is electrically suppressed according to AS/NZS 1044 and carries the RCM Mark for electrical safety. The exhaust filter change indicator activates after approximately 50 operating hours or one year of average use, indicating when the exhaust filter needs replacement.

Handle and Telescopic Suction Tube: The handle connects to a telescopic suction tube, which can be adjusted to suit the user's height for comfortable vacuuming. Release buttons facilitate the adjustment and detachment of these components.

Regular maintenance is crucial for efficient operation and includes:

Dustbag Replacement: The dustbag should be changed when the dustbag change indicator turns red, or sooner if suction power is reduced due to blocked pores from fine dust. Miele dustbags are disposable and designed for single use.
Dust Compartment Filter Replacement: This filter, which protects the motor, should be replaced with every new packet of Miele dustbags. Instructions are provided for removing the old filter and fitting a new one.
Exhaust Filter Replacement: Depending on the model, the vacuum cleaner may come with an AirClean, Active AirClean 50 (black), or HEPA AirClean 50 (white) exhaust filter. AirClean filters should be replaced with every new packet of Miele dustbags. Active AirClean 50 and HEPA AirClean 50 filters should be replaced when their respective change indicator is completely filled with red.
