Suitable containers for microwave ovens
A cover
prevents too much steam escaping,
especially when cooking foodstuffs
which need longer to cook, such as
potatoes,
shortens and evens out the cooking
process,
keeps the oven interior cleaner,
prevents food from drying out,
contains the aroma.
Always use lids or covers made of
microwave-safe glass or plastic, or use
a clingfilm recommended for use in a
microwave oven, (pierce as instructed
by the producer).
Sealed glass containers, such as
jars of food, must be opened before
they are placed in the oven.
Do not use a lid / cover
if food coated with breadcrumbs is
being cooked.
