Function Description

The Adapt-IQ 7" functions as a compact, adaptable computing device, suitable for both personal and professional use. It runs on an Android-based operating system, providing access to a wide array of applications and functionalities. The device is equipped with a 7-inch display, making it portable and convenient for on-the-go tasks. Its core functions include internet browsing, media playback, file management, and access to various applications through its intuitive home screen. The device supports external storage via an SD card slot and USB ports, allowing for expanded data capacity and connectivity with other peripherals. An optional 2M pixel camera enhances its utility for capturing images.

Usage Features

The Adapt-IQ 7" offers several features designed to enhance user experience:

  • Powering On and Off: To power on the device, connect the power adapter and switch the power button (located at #13 in the Product Instruction diagram) to the "ON" position. To power off, simply toggle the power switch.
  • SD Card Insertion: The device supports external SD cards for additional storage. Users can insert an SD card into the slot located at #3 in the Product Instruction diagram.
  • USB Device Connectivity: The tablet is equipped with USB and Micro-USB ports (#11 and #12, respectively) for connecting various USB devices. This allows for file transfer and interaction with peripherals. When connecting via Micro-USB to a computer, a "Turn on USB storage" option will appear, making the device's memory accessible on the computer.
  • Home Screen Navigation: Upon startup, the home screen displays app and widget icons. Users can customize the layout by long-pressing and dragging icons to desired locations. To remove an icon, drag it to the top of the screen. Long-pressing any empty space on the screen allows for wallpaper selection and widget placement.
  • Widgets: The "Widgets" tab provides access to various widgets that can be added to the home screen for quick access to information or functions.
  • Combined System Bar: This bar, located at the bottom of the screen, includes navigation buttons:
    • Volume- (#1): Decreases system volume.
    • Back (#2): Returns to the previous page.
    • Home (#3): Returns to the home screen.
    • Recents (#4): Switches between recently used applications.
    • Volume+ (#5): Increases system volume. Alternatively, physical function keys (Vol+ / Vol-) at #6 can be used to adjust volume.
  • Status Notifications: The upper-right corner of the home screen displays important information such as time, Wi-Fi status, and Ethernet connection status. Sliding down from this area reveals a context menu.
  • Brightness Adjustment: Within the context menu, selecting "BRIGHTNESS" allows users to adjust the screen brightness using a slider.
  • Application Access: Clicking the app icon on the right side of the home screen opens the applications page, displaying all installed apps. Users can open an app by clicking its icon. Shortcuts to frequently used apps can be created on the home screen by long-pressing an app icon and dragging it. Apps can be removed from the list by long-pressing and selecting "Remove from the list" or by swiping them up or down.
  • Language Settings: To change the system language, navigate to "Settings" > "Language & input" and select the preferred language.
  • Date & Time Configuration: Under "Settings" > "Date & time," users can configure date and time settings. Enabling "Automatic date & time" synchronizes the device with network time when connected to Wi-Fi. Manual adjustment is possible by disabling this option. Time zone, time notation, and date format can also be set here.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity: To connect to a Wi-Fi network, go to "Settings" > "Wi-Fi," switch the Wi-Fi button to "ON," and select an available network. Input the password to establish a connection.
  • Ethernet Connectivity: For a wired internet connection, navigate to "Settings" > "Ethernet," switch the Ethernet button to "ON," and plug an Ethernet cable into the RJ45 port (#10). Static IP users can manually configure settings.
  • Virtual Keyboard: The device features a virtual keyboard for text input. It appears automatically when a text input box is selected. To hide the keyboard, click the icon in the system bar.
  • Switching Input Methods: The virtual keyboard allows users to switch between different input methods or languages by clicking the second key in the lower-left corner, which brings up a "Choose input method" dialog box. If the keyboard icon is not visible, ensure that the desired input method is selected in "Language & input" settings.
  • Internet Browsing: The "Browser" app allows users to surf the internet. When connected to a network, users can visit websites, stream media, and download files. URLs can be entered in the address bar, and new tabs can be opened using the "+" icon.
  • File Management: The "Explorer" app provides access to local files. Users can select multiple files, and then perform operations such as cut, copy, paste, delete, and rename.
  • Media Playback: The device supports various media formats through its built-in players:
    • Picture Player: Supports JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP.
    • Music Player: Supports MP1, MP2, MP3, AAC, FLAC, APE, OGG, WAV, WMA.
    • Movie Player: Supports MKV, TS, FLV, AVI, VOB, MPG, DAT, ASF, RM, MOV, 3GP, MP4, WMV.

Maintenance Features

The Adapt-IQ 7" includes a crucial maintenance feature for system restoration:

  • Reset to Factory Default: This option allows users to restore the device to its original factory settings. It is essential to back up all important data before performing this action, as it will erase all personal information, downloaded apps, and system data. To initiate a factory reset, go to "Settings" > "Backup & reset" and select "Factory data reset." Confirm by clicking "Reset tablet" and then "Erase everything." The system will then reboot and reset.
