a. In order to remove the Bowguard/Steering Module,
the Gas Spring needs to be disconnected. Place the
motor in the stowed position.
WARNING
Moving parts can cut or crush. The gas assist lift
mechanism is under pressure. Disconnect gas spring
before removing motor from mount. Do not engage the
pull grip and rope until gas spring is disconnected.
This part is included in an assembly and cannot be ordered individually.

Summary

Disconnect the Gas Spring

Initial Gas Spring Disconnection

Disconnect gas spring before removing motor. Place motor in stowed position. Do not engage pull grip until disconnected.

Remove Cylinder Pin and Spacers

Remove screws securing the Upper Cylinder Pin, then remove the pin and associated spacers.

Remove Motor from Mount

Prepare Motor for Removal

With the gas spring disconnected, place the motor in the deployed position for safe removal.

Cable and Handle Installation

Route and Install New Cable

Route new cable through mount, guides, and brackets, then pull it out a cutout window.

Attach Clevis and Secure

Attach Clevis to cable, install Clevis Pin and Retaining Ring, then connect Clevis to bracket.

Reassemble the Bowguard/Steering Module

Align and Secure Module

Align module keyways with mount end links and lower it until seated.

Reinstall Fasteners and Stow

Reinstall Allen Screw and Lock Washer, then stow the motor to the folded position.

Install Gas Spring Assembly

Align gas spring with outer arm holes, insert pin with spacers, and secure with screws.

MAXXUM AND RIPTIDE MAXXUM INSTALLATION

Cable Routing and Attachment

Route new cable similar to old rope, attach Clevis to cable, then to Eye shaft with pin.

EDGE AND RIPTIDE EDGE INSTALLATION

Cable Routing and Clevis Installation

Route new cable, attach Clevis to cable, and insert Clevis Pin and Retaining Ring.
