Before installing your Trolling Motor Plug and Receptacle, consider
the following:
1. The mounting surface needs to have a flat area no less
than 3-¼” wide x 2-½ inches high. Use the Face Plate (Item
#2) to check for clearance at the desired mounting location.

This part is included in an assembly and cannot be ordered individually.
Not shown on Parts Diagram.
WARNING
Do not tin any wires with this installation. Tinned wires could
cause the connection to loosen over time, creating an improper
connection. Improper connections could cause ae electrical
short or extreme fire danger. Follow the installation instructions
provided to avoid product failure and injury.
WARNING
Make sure the power source is disconnected or, if controlled by
a switch, turned OFF before beginning installation of the Plug
Receptacle. Failure to remove power from the Boat Wires could
cause electric shock.
NOTICE: If uncomfortable making this installation, we
recommend having the Motor Plug and Receptacle
installed by a qualified marine installer.

Summary

Mounting Considerations

Step 1: Mounting Location

Review and Select Location

Review mounting considerations and determine an acceptable installation location.

Power Disconnection Warning

Ensure power is off before installation to prevent electric shock.

Step 2: Wire Preparation

Strip Wire Covering

Remove protective covering from boat wires, measuring 1/2" to 3/4".

Split Fused Wires

Separate fused positive and negative wires by a minimum of 2-1/2 inches.

Step 3: Boat Wire Ferrule and Splice

Fish Wires Through Hole

Thread boat wires through the drilled mounting hole.

Apply Ferrules

Cover stripped wire ends with appropriate sized ferrules.

Apply Splice and Heat Shrink

Secure ferrule-covered wires with splicers and shrink tubes.

Step 4: Receptacle Splice and Connection

Prepare Receptacle Wires

Add shrink tube and splicer to the receptacle's negative wire.

Connect Receptacle to Boat Wires

Align and insert receptacle wires into boat wire splicers.

Step 5: Secure Connections

Install and Secure Shrink Tubes

Slide shrink tubes over splices and secure with heat gun.

Insert Receptacle into Hole

Push the receptacle and wires into the mounting hole.

Step 6: Face Plate and Dust Cap

Attach Dust Cover Hook

Attach the dust cover hook to the back of the face plate.

Mount Face Plate

Place the face plate over the receptacle onto the mounting surface.

Step 7: Final Assembly Alignment

Position Plug Assembly

Turn assembly to find acceptable cord location and check clearance.

Mark Mounting Holes

Mark the mounting surface through the face plate screw holes.

Drill Pilot Holes

Drill pilot holes into the mounting surface at marked locations.

Step 8: Secure Face Plate

Reinstall and Secure

Push receptacle/plate back, align holes, and secure with screws.

Attach Dust Cover

Place dust cover loop into the face plate hook.

Step 9: Trolling Motor Wire Preparation

Prepare Trolling Motor Power Leads

Turn motor power off and prepare power leads for connection.

Trim and Strip Wires

Cut wires to length, stagger ends, and strip protective covering.

Step 10: Trolling Motor Wire Ferrule and Splice

Apply Ferrules to Motor Wires

Cover motor wire ends with appropriate sized ferrules.

Apply Splice Cover

Thread motor wires through the splice cover.

Prepare Motor Wire Splice

Add shrink tube and splicer to the longer negative motor wire.

Step 11: Connect Trolling Motor to Receptacle

Prepare Plug Assembly Wires

Add shrink tube and splicer to the plug assembly's negative wire.

Connect Plug Assembly to Motor Wires

Align and insert plug assembly wires into motor wire splicers.

Step 12: Final Connections and Sealing

Secure and Seal Connections

Slide shrink tubes over splices, secure with heat gun, and add splice cover.

Tighten Threaded Collar

Tighten the threaded collar on the plug assembly for a water-tight seal.
