7. LEG RESTS
Warning: Do not lift or carry the wheelchair by the leg rests!
Standard leg supports
You can remove the leg supports. To remove the leg sup-
port, press the handle (see figure 8/
) and turn the leg sup-
port outwards, then pull the leg support upwards. Follow
these instructions in reverse order to replace the leg sup-
ports.
Comfort leg rests
If required, this leg rest can be used to bring the leg from
bent to fully stretched (figure 9). The lower leg is then com-
fortably supported by a calf plate.
Loosen the adjustment using the handle on the leg support
(figure 9/
). Place the leg support at the required angle and
release the handle.
Caution: Take care not to place your fingers in the adjus-
tment mechanism when you are adjusting the knee angle.
Adjusting leg rest length:
The required leg rest length can be adjusted by moving the
foot plate with foot plate tube upwards or downwards.
Loosen the Allen bolt with Allen key 5 (see figure 8/
) at
the bottom of the leg rest pipe by turning it anticlockwise.
Position the foot plate at the required length and tighten
the Allen bolt again by turning it clockwise.
Warning: After assembling and adjusting the leg rests, make sure that the Allen bolts are securely
fastened again.
Getting in and out of the wheelchair:
Caution: When getting in and out of the wheelchair or when transferring to or from the wheelchair,
always turn off the electronics. This prevents accidentally touching the joystick and moving the
MINOS POWER.
1. Fold foot plates upwards.
In the case of a lateral transfer, also:
2. Remove the armrest (Chapter 7) on the transfer side.
3. Remove the leg rest (Chapter 8) on the transfer side.
Caution: Do not stand on the foot plates while getting in and out of the wheelchair.
8. BRAKES
The MINOS POWER brake system is operated fully automatically using the joystick, photo . As soon
as the joystick is moved away from its central position, the brakes are disengaged and the MINOS
