Opening and Closing the Pressure Cooker

Pressure Cooker Features and Components

Single Pressure Control

Automatic cooking control operating at 10 PSI. Included with 4.2 & 6 Qt. Models.

Selective Pressure Control

Allows selection of 3 cooking pressures: 5, 10, and 15 PSI. Included with 8, 12 & 22 Qt. Models.

Reusable Overpressure Plug

Releases steam if vent tube is plugged and pressure is excessive.

Safety Window

Releases steam if vent tube and overpressure plug are blocked.

Safety Locks

Prevents opening the lid when the cooker is pressurized.

Spring Safety Device

Prevents pressurization before the lid is closed.

Using Your Pressure Cooker

Vent Tube Check

Verify the vent tube is clear by holding the lid to light. Clean if blocked.

Filling

Fill cooker with food and water, not exceeding 1/2 full for puffing foods, 2/3 for others.

Cooking

Heat on high until steam releases, then lower heat to maintain pressure.

Food Removal

Turn off heat, reduce pressure completely before opening.
