Overview

The Mito Red Light Helmet (LED/Laser) is a device designed to promote scalp health and hair growth in individuals with androgenetic alopecia. It utilizes both laser diodes and red light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to deliver therapeutic light to the scalp.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Mito Red Light Helmet is to stimulate hair growth in males with Norwood-Hamilton Classifications of IIa-V and females with Ludwig-Savin Classifications of I-II. It is also indicated for users with Fitzpatrick Skin Phototypes I to IV. The device works by emitting red light at specific wavelengths to the scalp. It incorporates an infrared sensing function that ensures the helmet is correctly worn on the head; if removed or improperly positioned, the device automatically pauses operation to prevent direct eye exposure to the light emitters. Therapy resumes once the correct head position is re-established. At the end of a therapy cycle, the system signals completion with an audible beep pattern, indicating it's ready to be powered down.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Light Sources: The helmet is composed of 26 Class 3R laser diodes and 30 red light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
  • Laser Wavelength: 650-660nm.
  • Laser Power for Classification: <5mW per light output point, classified as Laser Class 3R.
  • Red Light LED Wavelength: 640-660nm.
  • Light Emitting Mode: Continuous light.
  • Electrical Current: 800±100 mA.
  • Size: (L)251mm x (W)208mm x (H)133mm.
  • Net Weight: 625g.
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility: Complies with IEC 60601-1-2 Standard.
  • BF Symbol: Indicates the device is in accordance with the degree of protection against electric shock for type BF equipment.

Usage Features:

  • Preparation: Remove the device from packaging.
  • Positioning: Position the helmet comfortably on the head. The infrared sensing function ensures proper placement for operation.
  • Power On: Plug the power adapter into the remote controller, then into a socket. A beep sound confirms successful electrification.
  • Starting a Session: Hold the "ON/OFF" button for 3 seconds to turn on the machine. If the "START/PAUSE" button is not pressed within one minute, the helmet will automatically shut down. Press the "START/PAUSE" button to begin the 25-minute countdown; a "beep" sound indicates the session has started.
  • Session Duration: Each session lasts 25 minutes. The device automatically turns off after the session is completed.
  • Pausing a Session: Press the "START/PAUSE" button to pause the session. The timer will flash, and the device will pause. Press "START/PAUSE" again to resume. If not resumed within 5 minutes, the device automatically turns off.
  • Turning Off: The device automatically turns off after 25 minutes or if the "START/PAUSE" button is not pressed within 1 minute of being powered on. To manually turn off, hold the "ON/OFF" button for 3 seconds. Disconnect the power adapter from the remote controller and then from the electrical outlet. The display on the controller may stay on briefly due to remaining capacitance but will shut down after a few seconds.
  • Recommended Usage Schedule: It is recommended to use the device for 25 minutes every other day for 16 weeks. After 16 weeks, users may continue using it every other day according to their goals.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Gently clean the product before each use. Wipe helmet surfaces with a clean cloth lightly dampened with clean water, inspecting for contaminants and repeating if necessary. Allow to air dry completely. Then, wipe surfaces with a clean cloth dampened with 70% ethanol or 70% isopropyl alcohol, allowing 1 minute contact time before air drying. Do not use the device unless it is completely dry.
  • Storage: Store the device in a dry location, away from sunlight, windows, sinks, bathtubs, kitchens, and bathrooms, at around room temperature.
  • Storage & Transportation Temperature: -30°C ~ 60°C (-22°F ~ 140°F).
  • Storage & Transportation Humidity: 10% ~ 95%RH.
  • Storage & Transportation Pressure: 500 ~ 1060 hPa.
  • Long-Term Storage: If not used for a long time, power on once every 3 months and charge once every 6 months to prevent moisture aging and damage to internal components.
  • Temperature Acclimation: If the product is taken from extreme storage temperatures, allow it to stand at room temperature for at least 1 hour before use.

Warnings and Precautions:

  • Eye Safety: Do not look directly into any of the light emitters inside the device. Avoid exposure to laser radiation emitted from the aperture. Do not use optical instruments (magnifying glass, microscope) to observe the light source.
  • Device Integrity: Do not disassemble, modify, or repair the LED helmet. Do not operate if the cord, controller, or helmet is damaged. Contact Mito Red Light for damages or malfunction.
  • Water Contact: Do not allow the helmet or controller to come into contact with water while in use. Do not place the device or controller where it can fall into a sink or tub. Never use the device while sitting in a bathtub or swimming pool.
  • Heat Exposure: Keep the helmet or controller away from hot or heated surfaces (radiators, stoves, ovens, room heaters) to prevent malfunction.
  • Hair Condition: Do not use the device when hair is wet. Towel dry hair before use to prevent malfunction or obstruction of laser light delivery.
  • Cord Handling: Do not put tension on the cord; untangle or straighten it carefully to prevent breakage and electrical hazards.
  • Children and Pets: Keep lasers and the device out of reach of children and pets to prevent harm from direct laser light exposure.
  • Skin Sensitivity/Allergies: Do not use if skin is sensitive or allergic to laser (650-660nm). Discontinue use and consult a physician if scalp itching or tingling lasts more than one hour after a session, or if any abnormal condition (redness, sunburn redness) occurs.
  • Medical Conditions/Medications: Do not use if you have a medical condition that makes your skin sensitive to sun or light, or if taking photosensitizing medications.
  • Cancer: Do not use if you have cancer on your scalp.
  • Age Restriction: The device should not be used by or on children under 18 years of age.
