2 Before starting the engine (Tilt the cab.)
Engine oil level
Check that there is sufficient engine oil using
the oil level gauge or the engine oil level
check switch.
Change the engine oil if its level is above the
round hole on the oil level gauge.

Belt tension and damage
Check the fan belt tension by applying a
force of 98 N (22 lbs., 10 kgf) to its center.
Check that the belt is not nicked or other-
wise damaged.

Leaks of diesel fuel, oil, coolant and air
Check the underneath of the vehicle for any
sign of leakage.
