This document serves as an installation and maintenance manual for a series of LED luminaires, specifically models LED3xxx, LED5xxx, LED11xxx, LEDT3xxx, LEDT5xxx, and LEDT11xxx.
Function Description:
The device is an LED luminaire designed for indoor use, providing illumination. It is part of a system that requires a 24V constant voltage driver (e.g., LEDAD36, not supplied) for operation, converting a 230V mains supply to the required 24V. The luminaires are dimmable when used with compatible dimmer accessories (LEDDIMMER or LEDTD1) or a dimmable constant voltage driver. The "flat range" of luminaires includes an individual switch for each unit, allowing for independent control. Multiple fittings can be connected together using connectors and link leads, facilitating larger lighting installations.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Voltage: 24V (requires a 24V constant voltage driver)
- Ingress Protection (IP) Rating: IP20 (suitable for indoor use only)
- Electrical Class: Class III
- Dimmability: Dimmable with LEDDIMMER or LEDTD1 (LEDTD1 suitable for flat range only)
- Maximum Dimmer Load (LEDTD1/LEDDIMMER): Up to 36W
Usage Features:
- Installation:
- Requires power to the installation point.
- Installation involves using the clip as a template to mark and drill fixing holes, then inserting the luminaire into the clips until it locks. Care must be taken to avoid infringing on gas/water pipes or electrical cables during drilling.
- Connection to the 230V mains supply is made to the primary side of a 24V constant voltage driver (e.g., LEDAD36, not supplied), ensuring correct polarity (Live to brown, Neutral to blue).
- The secondary side of the driver is then plugged into the luminaire.
- After connection, the system should be switched on to check for correct operation.
- Dimming (with LEDTD1 accessory):
- LEDTD1 is a touch dimmer specifically for the flat range of luminaires.
- It plugs into the luminaire, and all subsequent units (up to a maximum of 36W) can be controlled by this dimmer.
- The LEDTD1 has a memory function, retaining the brightness level even after the mains power is switched off.
- Connection involves connecting the touch dimmer to the luminaire and then connecting the secondary side of the driver to the touch dimmer.
- Dimming (with LEDDIMMER accessory):
- LEDDIMMER is suitable for both flat and triangular ranges of luminaires.
- It enables control of all connected units up to a maximum of 36W.
- Connection involves connecting the dimmer to the luminaire and then connecting the secondary side of the driver to the dimmer.
- Power Connection (with LEDTD2 accessory):
- LEDTD2 is a plug-in power connector for the flat range of luminaires, used with drivers that lack a suitable connector on their secondary side.
- Installation involves unscrewing the cap from the connector, connecting the secondary side of the driver into the power connector using suitable 2-core flex (observing correct polarity), replacing the cap, securing it with screws, and finally connecting the power connector to the luminaire.
- Individual Switching: The flat range of luminaires is equipped with a switch, allowing each luminaire to be switched individually.
- Expandability: Multiple fittings can be connected using connectors and link leads.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Clean with a soft, dry cloth only. Avoid aggressive cleaning products or solvents, as these may damage the product.
- Light Source: The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable. When the light source reaches its end of life, the entire luminaire should be replaced.
- Recycling: The product should be recycled in the correct manner at the end of its life. Users should check with local authorities for available recycling facilities.
- Warranty: The product comes with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty is invalidated by failure to install according to the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671), improper use, or removal of the batch code. If the product fails within the warranty period, it should be returned to the place of purchase for a free replacement. ML Accessories does not cover installation costs for replacement products. Product specifications may be altered without prior notice.
- Safety Precaution: The luminaire must be disconnected from the circuit before any high voltage or insulation resistance testing. Failure to do so will result in irreparable damage.
General Safety Instructions:
- Installation must comply with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and current Building Regulations. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
- Isolate mains power before installation or maintenance.
- Ensure the total circuit load (including the luminaire) does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse, or circuit breaker.
- Note the IP rating when deciding on the installation location.
- This product is for indoor use only.
