STARTUP / SHUTDOWN REFERENCE
NEVER TURN OFF UNIT WITHOUT FOLLOWING THE BELOW PROCEEDURE!
SHUTDOWN: To prevent damage to the system, place the system in “STANDBY” 11. Remove any
liquid nitrogen from the Liquefier by pressing “DISPENSE” or “TRANSFER” 7 (depending on the
model). See page 6.
After approximately 15 minutes power off the unit, using the power switch at the rear.
STARTUP: Power on the system. Place the system in “RUN” 11. Ensure a defrost starts
automatically. If not, press the “DEFROST” button 8. The system will begin to produce in
approximately 2 hours.
NOTES:
1. We recommend that the system is not powered off often. Frequent cycling can shorten the
life of your Elan2 Generator.
2. We recommend that you press “DISPENSE” before leaving every day (especially before a
weekend or holiday) to empty the internal Dewar. Once you dispense any remaining LN2,
push the “DEFROST” button, the system will go into a 90 minute defrost and then
automatically go into Standby mode and will not produce any LN2. When you return switch
the system back to “RUN”, it will go into an automatic defrost, simply press the “DEFROST”
button to bypass this. The system will start producing.
