Usage Features

The C4D-4MEUAD_V6 is designed for straightforward use:

Installation:

  1. SIM Card Insertion: The device requires opening to insert a SIM card into the dedicated slot. This process involves carefully prying open the casing, ensuring the electronic card is correctly seated, and then inserting the SIM card.
  2. Device Closure: After SIM card insertion, the device must be properly closed. This involves ensuring the electronic card's hole is correctly inserted into the plastic part, the GPS antenna is properly placed, and the micro USB port is correctly aligned. Finally, the battery is inserted, and the casing is secured with a screw.
  3. OBD Dongle Installation: Once prepared, the dongle is simply connected to the vehicle's OBD connector.

LED Indicators: The device features a two-colored LED (green and red) that provides visual feedback on its operational status. When both colors are brightened, an orange light is visible.

  • Green LED Sequences:
    • No Modem / No GNSS: 3 times (50ms ON/100ms OFF) followed by 3550ms OFF.
    • No Modem / Fix GNSS: 2 times (50ms ON/100ms OFF) followed by 3700ms OFF.
    • Modem OK / No GNSS: 1 time (50ms ON/100ms OFF) followed by 3850ms OFF.
    • Modem OK / Fix GNSS: 2000ms ON followed by 2000ms OFF.
  • Red LED Sequences:
    • Dongle OFF: OFF.
    • Ext. Power/Run: ON.

Maintenance Features

While the C4D-4MEUAD_V6 is designed for robust operation, certain maintenance considerations are important:

Battery Replacement: There is a risk of explosion if the battery is replaced with an incorrect type. Users must ensure that any replacement battery matches the specifications of the original. Empty batteries should be discarded according to local regulations.

RF Exposure Information (SAR): The device has a reported SAR value for usage near the body. To ensure compliance with safety guidelines, users should maintain a separation distance of Xmm or less. When used as a handled device or body-mounted wireless communication device, a 5mm distance is used for SAR testing. Users are advised to adopt a holster/sleeve/cover without any metal components to maintain this distance and comply with the specified limits for general population/uncontrolled exposure (Localized 10-gram SAR for head and trunk, limit: 2.0W/kg) as per Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC, ICNIRP Guidelines, and RED (Directive 2014/53/EU).

General Care:

  • Environmental Conditions: Adhere to the specified operating temperature range (-25/+60°C) to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Disposal: Dispose of used batteries and the device itself according to local regulations to protect the environment.
  • Firmware Updates: While not explicitly detailed as a user-accessible feature, Mobile Devices Ingénierie reserves the right to make changes to improve reliability, design, or features. Users should contact technical support for current updates and supplemental information.
