The laser-based sensor in Air Pro is designed to detect particles, giving you a
window into the air in the room it’s operating in, to help maintain clean air. Using a
laser and light-sensitive detector, the sensor counts particles that reflect light
and gauges how much of it is in the air.
Airborne particles, or particulate matter (PM), can contain a range of microbes,
allergens, and bacteria. Air Pros sensor can detect three size ranges of particles,
from about 1/5th down to 1/50th the width of a human hair. But theres more to
air pollution than just particles. While the particle sensor doesn’t measure other
types of pollution like ozone, VOCs, and some allergens, you can rest assured that
the unique PECO technology at the core of your device is working to destroy them.
