Charging Case
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operation and keep them for later refer-
ence.
1 Applications
This transport case with intelligent and quick elec-
tronic charging system is used for charging the bat-
teries of the units TXA-800HSE (pocket transmit-
ter) and TXA-800R (pocket receiver). It allows to
charge the batteries of up to 12 units (TXA-12C) or
36 units (TXA-36C) at the same time.
The charging case features a most convenient
handling: To charge the batteries, they do not need
to be removed from the transmitter or receiver; the
unit is inserted into the charging compartment
together with its batteries. The design of the charg-
ing compartments will ensure correct insertion of
the units, thus preventing inadvertent reverse
polarity.
2 Safety Notes
The units (charging case and power supply unit)
correspond to all required directives of the EU and
are therefore marked with .
Please observe the following items in any case:
G
Only use this charging case for rechargeable
NiCd or NiMH batteries. If non-rechargeable bat-
teries are charged, this may result in leakage or
even explosion!
G
Only insert rechargeable batteries of the same
type into the transmitter or the receiver and
always replace the batteries in pairs.
G
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity, and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range 0 40 °C).
G
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
units, e. g. a drinking glass.
G
For power supply of the charging case, only use
the power supply unit provided.
G
Do not operate the charging case or immediately
disconnect the power supply unit from the mains
socket
1. if the charging case, the power supply, or the
mains cable is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit
was dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the units must be repaired by skilled
personnel.
G
Never pull the mains cable for disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the
plug.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
chemicals or water.
WARNING The power supply unit uses dan-
gerous mains voltage. Leave ser-
vic ing to skilled personnel only.
Inexpert handling may result in
electric shock.
G
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the units are used for
other purposes than originally intended, if they
are not correctly connected or operated, or not
repaired in an expert way.
G
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-

3 Charging the Batteries
1) Operating TXA-12C:
a) Open the charging case.
b) Connect the power supply unit to the DC volt-
age jack of the charging case and to a mains
socket via the mains cable. Thus, the charg-
ing case is switched on.
Operating TXA-36C:
a) Open the charging case: For this purpose,
press down the grey unlocking buttons at the
two snap locks and pull the locks towards
you.
b) Connect the power supply unit to the DC volt-
age jack of the charging case and to a mains
socket via the mains cable.
c) To switch on the charging case, press the on-
off switch.
After switching on, the charging case will per-
form a short self-test: at each charging compart-
ment, the LEDs OK and ON will shortly light up
in succession. After completion of the self-test,
the LEDs ON will shortly light up once again: the
charging case is now ready for operation.
2) Insert the units (TXA-800HSE or TXA-800R)
with their batteries into the charging compart-
ments.
3) During the charging process, the orange LED
ON of the corresponding charging compartment
will light up. (If the LED flashes, the batteries are
not correctly inserted into the transmitter/
receiver or non-rechargeable batteries are used
If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful
to the environment.
instead of rechargeable batteries – in this case,
remove the unit from the compartment immedi-
ately.)
4) When the batteries of a unit are fully charged,
the green LED OK of the corresponding charg-
ing compartment will light up. The unit may be
removed.
5) To switch off
TXA-12C, disconnect the power supply unit
from the mains.
TXA-36C, press the on-off switch. If the case
is not used for charging for a longer period,
disconnect the power supply unit from the
mains; even with the charging case switched
off, it will have a low power comsumption.
After switching off, the LEDs ON will shortly light
up once.
6) Always close the charging case after operation
to protect the charging contacts from dust.
To close the case of TXA-36C, first close the
cover, then push the snap locks back so that
they will engage. Lock the case with one of the
keys provided, if required.
Note: When the charging case is disconnected
