Overview

This document describes the Monodeal CW604-FM CD Player, a portable device designed for playing CDs with additional features like an FM transmitter.

Function Description

The CD player features an LCD display for showing information. To operate the device, you open the lid using the "Open Switch." The "MODE" button allows you to select various play modes:

  • Repeat Current Track: Repeats the currently playing song.
  • Repeat All Tracks: Repeats all songs on the disc.
  • Repeat All Tracks in Current Album: Specifically for MP3 discs, this mode repeats all tracks within the current album.
  • Intro Play: Plays the first 10 seconds of every track.
  • Shuffle Play: Plays tracks in a random order.

A notable feature is the memory function. After powering on, the player resumes playback from where it last stopped. If the device was shut down at the end of the last song, you'll need to press the "Play/Pause" button to start playback from the first song; otherwise, the machine will automatically shut down. In the default playback mode, if the power switch is in the "ON" position, the CD player will automatically shut down after the last song finishes. You can press the "Play/Pause" button to restart it.

The "DIR/" button has a dual function:

  • Short press: Selects the next album (only for MP3 format).
  • Long press: Locks or unlocks the device. When locked, a "HOLD" icon appears on the screen, and all buttons are disabled. Long press again to unlock.

Playback control buttons include:

  • Previous Song/Fast Backward: A short press selects the previous song, while a long press initiates fast backward.
  • Play/Pause: Controls playback.
  • Next Song/Fast Forward: A short press selects the next song, and a long press initiates fast forward.

The "EQ/FM" button also has dual functionality:

  • Short press: Selects sound effects such as BBS (Bass), Pop, Jazz, Rock, and Classic.
  • Long press: Turns the FM transmitter ON or OFF.

The device includes a Power ON/OFF switch and "VOL -/VOL+" buttons to adjust the volume. It has two headphone jacks (1/2) for shared listening. An indicator light provides charging status: red when charging, green when fully charged. If the battery is low, a "battery low" icon will be displayed, prompting you to charge the device via the Micro USB charge port.

Usage Features

The Monodeal CW604-FM CD Player is designed for portability and ease of use. It incorporates an anti-shock system, which is enabled by default, indicated by an "ASP" icon on the screen (which disappears when closed). This system provides shockproof times of 160 seconds for CD format and 300 seconds for MP3 format, ensuring uninterrupted playback during movement.

Headset Control: The device supports control via wired headsets. The headset typically includes buttons for:

  • Play/Pause: To start or stop playback.
  • Next Song/Fast Forward: A short press for the next song, a long press for fast forward.
  • Previous Song/Fast Backward: A short press for the previous song, a long press for fast backward.

FM Transmitter Functionality: This feature is particularly useful for connecting the CD player to cars or speakers with FM radio capabilities.

  1. Activating the FM Transmitter: Long press the "EQ/FM" button to turn the FM transmit function ON or OFF. After 5 seconds in the FM setting interface, it will automatically return to the playback interface. To re-enter the FM setting (e.g., to change frequency), short press "EQ/FM" again. In FM mode, the device's external speaker is muted.
  2. Setting Frequency:
    • Method 1: Use the "Previous Song" or "Next Song" buttons on the CD player to set the frequency. Then, tune your car radio to the same frequency as the CD player. For cars that don't support manual FM frequency changes, customer support can be contacted.
    • Method 2: First, set your car radio to an unoccupied frequency. Then, adjust the CD player's frequency to match it. For example, set both the car and CD player to F90.0 MHz to play music.
    • Caution: The default frequency is 87.5 MHz. If the selected frequency is too close to other radio stations, it may cause interference noise. In such cases, it's recommended to choose a different, less interfered frequency. The EQ effect cannot be changed when in FM transmit mode.

Connecting to External Speakers/Car AUX Port: The player comes with a 3.5mm AUX audio cable. One end plugs into the headphone jack of the CD player, and the other plugs into the alternative input of a car or speaker with an AUX port, allowing audio output through external systems.

Maintenance Features

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Monodeal CW604-FM CD Player, consider the following:

Power Management:

  • To turn on the player, slide the power switch to the "ON" position.
  • If the CD player will not be used for a long time, it is recommended to turn the power switch to "OFF" to reduce power loss and conserve battery life.

Disc Handling:

  • The player supports CD, CD-R, and CD-RW disc types, and music formats like CD-DA, MP3, and WMA. Ensure your discs meet these specifications.
  • Always check the condition of your discs. Scratches, dirt, debris, or cracks can cause malfunctions or shorten the life of the laser head. Use clean, undamaged discs for best performance. If a disc isn't playing, try a new, known-good CD to test the player.

Environmental Care:

  • Avoid exposing the CD player to moisture, rain, sand, or various heat sources to prevent damage.

Safety Precautions:

  • Prevent excessive volume from damaging your hearing when adjusting the volume.
  • Do not use the CD player with headphones while riding a bicycle or driving a car to avoid potential dangers and ensure safety.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • If you encounter issues, do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
