Overview

The MONTA watch is a sophisticated, Swiss-made timepiece designed for enthusiasts who appreciate precision engineering and robust functionality. Each MONTA model is equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement, ensuring that the watch is automatically wound through the natural movements of your wrist. Consistent daily wear is recommended to maintain optimal winding and performance.

Function Description

MONTA offers a range of models, including Hour, Minute & Second models and GMT models, each tailored to specific needs and preferences.

  • Hour, Minute & Second Models: These watches provide essential timekeeping functions with a focus on accuracy and reliability. Models such as The Noble, The Triumph, and The Oceanking fall into this category, offering varying levels of water resistance and power reserve. The Oceanking, for example, is designed for diving, featuring a unidirectional rotating bezel for precise measurement of dive times.

  • GMT Models: For travelers and those who track multiple time zones, MONTA offers GMT models like The Skyquest and The Atlas. These watches include a GMT hand, allowing you to track a second time zone simultaneously. The Skyquest, in particular, features a bidirectional rotating bezel with 72 positions, enabling precise measurement of GMT time across all of the world's timezones.

Usage Features

Operating your MONTA watch involves a few key steps related to the crown positions and bezel functions.

  • Crown Positions & Setting the Time: The crown is a multi-functional component used for winding, setting the date, and setting the time.

    • To Wind Manually: To manually wind the watch, unscrew the crown counterclockwise to Position 1. This is useful if the watch has not been worn for a period and needs an initial wind.
    • To Set Date: Transition the crown to Position 2. Rotate the crown counterclockwise to quick-set the date. It is crucial to avoid setting the date using the quick-set function between the hours of 9 PM and 3 AM to prevent potential damage to the movement.
    • To Set GMT Hand (for GMT Models): For GMT models, the GMT hand can be advanced by turning the crown clockwise in Position 2.
    • To Set Time: Transition the crown to Position 3. Rotate the crown clockwise to set the time. In this position, the seconds hand will stop, allowing for precise time setting.
    • Securing the Crown: After every adjustment, gently push the crown back in and simultaneously screw it down carefully against the case. This action is vital to ensure the watch maintains its water resistance.
  • Bezel Function: The bezel is a critical feature, especially for dive and GMT watches.

    • Unidirectional Rotating Bezel (e.g., Oceanking): This bezel has 60 positions and rotates in only one direction. It is primarily used for measuring elapsed time, such as dive durations, preventing accidental increases in recorded time.
    • Bidirectional Rotating Bezel (e.g., Skyquest): This bezel has 72 positions and can rotate in both directions. It is designed for tracking GMT time across different time zones, offering flexibility in setting and reading multiple times.

Maintenance Features

Proper care and adherence to warranty guidelines will ensure the longevity and performance of your MONTA watch.

  • Cleaning: The watch case, rubber strap, and metal bracelet can be washed with a soft brush and soapy water. Before cleaning, always ensure the crown is tightly screwed down to prevent water ingress.
  • Strap Care: It is important to note that leather straps, whether purchased separately or included with a watch model, are not waterproof. Avoid exposing leather straps to water to maintain their condition and integrity.
  • Warranty: Your MONTA watch is backed by a 2-year international warranty. To validate the warranty, the included warranty card must be completed, signed, and dated by MONTA or an Authorized MONTA Retailer at the time of purchase.
  • Warranty Exclusions: The warranty specifically excludes normal wear and tear, damage resulting from accidents or mishandling, and loss or theft of the watch. Furthermore, any modification to your MONTA watch, including the addition or substitution of non-original parts, will void the warranty. This policy ensures that the watch's original craftsmanship and performance are maintained.

MONTA watches are designed to be reliable companions for daily wear and specialized activities, embodying Swiss precision and thoughtful design.
