Function Description:

The Montpellier ECO TCC60 is a freestanding twin cavity electric cooker designed for domestic use. It features a ceramic hob with four cooking zones and two oven cavities: a main oven and a top cavity (grill compartment). The cooker allows for various cooking functions including bottom heating, top heating, top & bottom heating, turbo fan, oven lamp, and grill element. It is designed to provide a combination of style, reliability, and performance for everyday cooking needs.

The cooker is available in two sizes: 50x60 cm and 60x60 cm. For the 50x60 cm model:

Usage Features:

  • Hob Operation: The ceramic hob cooking zones are controlled by knobs on the fascia panel. Users can select the desired power level by turning the knob clockwise. It is recommended to use pans with thick, flat bottoms that match the size of the cooking zones. Cooking with lids on pans is advised to conserve energy. Zones should be switched off before the end of cooking time to utilize residual heat. The "0" position turns off all zones.
  • Oven Operation:
    • Initial use: The oven should be operated at 250°C for 45-60 minutes when empty to eliminate any initial odors from the heating elements.
    • Temperature control: The thermostat control knob must be set to the required temperature.
    • Pre-heating: The oven should be pre-heated for 5-10 minutes before cooking.
    • Door usage: Avoid opening the oven door too frequently during use to maintain heat circulation and optimal cooking results.
    • Cooking time table: A suggested cooking time table is provided for various meals (e.g., creamed cake, pastry, biscuit, cookie, cake, braided cookie, filo pastry, savory pastry, lamb meat, veal, mutton, chicken, fish) with recommended temperatures and rack positions. Users are advised to consult food packet information as results may vary.
  • Heat Shield: A safety shield is provided to protect the fascia panel and knobs when the oven is in Grill Mode. It should be placed under the control panel by opening the grill door and then secured between the oven and the grill door by closing the grill door. It is important to keep the grill door open when using the grill.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • The appliance must be earthed.
    • Do not connect to electricity supply during installation or when replacing the oven lamp.
    • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified person.
    • Keep electrical cables away from hot areas and potential damage.
    • Ensure good ventilation in the kitchen as the appliance creates moisture and heat.
    • Do not touch the glass when the cooker is hot.
    • This appliance is for cooking purposes only and for domestic use.
    • Keep curtains, paper, and flammable items away from the appliance.
    • Children aged 8 years and above can use the appliance under supervision. Children must not play with the appliance.
    • Use oven gloves when handling hot surfaces.
    • Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

    • Do not splash cool water into the oven or tray when hot to avoid burns and damage.

    • Supervise toasting to prevent bread from catching fire.
    • Disconnect power before accessing terminations or cleaning the fan guard panel.
    • Unattended cooking with fat or oil can be dangerous; never use water to extinguish a fire, switch off the appliance, and cover the flame with a lid or fire blanket.
    • Do not store items on the cooking surface.
    • If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid electric shock.
    • Exercise caution when preparing food with high alcohol content as vapors can ignite; open the door carefully.
    • Not intended for operation by external timer or remote-control system.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Always switch off the power before cleaning.
    • Do not clean interior parts (panel, lid, trays) with hard brushes, cleaning mesh, or knives.
    • Avoid abrasive or scratching agents and detergents.
    • Clean interior parts with a soapy cloth, rinse, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
    • Clean glass surfaces with special glass cleaning agents.
    • Do not use a steam cleaner.
    • Never use flammable agents like acid or thinners.
    • Do not wash any part of the oven in a dishwasher.
  • Oven Lamp Replacement:
    • Ensure the oven cavity, grill, and heating elements are cool.
    • Switch off the power to the appliance.
    • Replace the bulb with one having a maximum rating of 25W and 300°C temperature resistance.
  • Oven Door Removal: Instructions and images are provided for removing the oven door for cleaning or maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting: A table is provided for common issues such as the oven not working, oven light not working, or oven not heating. Suggested solutions include checking fuses/breakers, ensuring the device is switched on, changing the lamp, or setting the correct cooking mode and temperature. If problems persist, contact a qualified electrician.
  • Repair: Do not attempt to repair the cooker yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
  • Wall Fixing: The appliance must be fixed to the wall using the supplied chain and hooked screw to prevent tipping. The hook should be screwed securely into the wall at approximately 75 cm height.
  • Surrounding Furniture: Any adjacent kitchen furniture must be heat resistant to 100°C. When fitting an extraction cooker hood above the hob, the minimum height must be 650mm.

Guarantee and Support:

The cooker comes with a two-year Parts & Labour Guarantee. To activate the guarantee, users need the product serial number (found on the rear of the machine) and can register online at www.montpellier-appliances.com/support or by post. The guarantee covers repairs for 24 months from the date of purchase, provided claims are accompanied by evidence of model reference, serial number, and proof of purchase. The guarantee does not cover: incorrect installation or operation, non-domestic use, defects from accident/misuse/unauthorized repair, call-outs for faults not found or routine maintenance, door alignment issues, use by non-householders or in commercial environments, consumable items (fuses, bulbs), or unauthorized repair costs.
