Do you have a question about the Monzana MZP15 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Monzana Pool Pump is a device designed for cleaning and maintaining swimming pool water. It is available in various models with different power ratings and flow rates, suitable for above-ground pools.

Function Description

The pool pump circulates pool water through a filter system to remove impurities, debris, and other contaminants. It helps maintain water quality, preventing the growth of algae, bacteria, and other microorganisms. The pump draws water from the pool, pushes it through a filter cartridge (or sand filter, depending on the model), and then returns the clean water to the pool. This continuous circulation and filtration process ensures clear and hygienic pool water.

Important Technical Specifications

The Monzana Pool Pump is available in four main models: MZP15, MZP30, MZP40, and MZP90, each with varying technical specifications:

The pump is designed for continuous operation and should be installed on a stable and flat surface, at least 0.2 meters below the water level of the pool. It is equipped with a residual current device (RCD) with a maximum tripping current of 30 mA for electrical safety. The installation requires a minimum distance of 2 meters from the pool and 3.5 meters from the pool edge for electrical connections.

Usage Features

The Monzana Pool Pump is intended for private use in above-ground pools. It is not designed for inground pools or for removing aggressive substances like algae, bacteria, or other germs.

Installation:

  1. Unpack the pump and hoses.
  2. Position the pump at least 0.2 meters below the water level on a stable surface.
  3. Insert the filter cartridge into the filter chamber.
  4. Connect the O-ring and filter housing.
  5. Connect the hoses to the pump and pool outlets.
  6. Secure all connections with hose clamps.
  7. Ensure all valves are open and connections are tight.

Commissioning:

  1. Ensure the pool is filled with water and all connections are correctly attached.
  2. Carefully open the vent valve by turning it 1-2 turns to release air from the pump and filter housing.
  3. Once water flows out, close the vent valve.
  4. Connect the mains plug to operate the pump.

Important Notes for Use:

  • To ensure clean pool water, a minimum daily operating time of eight hours is recommended.
  • The sound pressure level is below 82dB(A).
  • The maximum total delivery head is 0.9 m (for pumps with a nominal power consumption of more than 50W).
  • Always disconnect the power plug before any maintenance or inspection work.
  • Never run the pump dry.
  • Do not use the pump if the water temperature is below 4°C or above 35°C.
  • Regularly check the water level in the pool; the skimmer system should not run dry.
  • Do not use the pump to pump flammable liquids or chemicals.
  • The pump is not a toy and should not be handled by children.
  • Ensure the power cable is not damaged or trapped.
  • Avoid placing the pump in an area where it could accumulate water or in an area with heavy foot traffic.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the pool pump.

General Maintenance:

  1. Always disconnect the power plug before any maintenance.
  2. No lubrication or routine mechanical maintenance is necessary.
  3. Wash the filter with a mild cleaning agent and water.
  4. Do not use solvents to clean the filter as they could damage plastic parts.
  5. Maintain the pH value of the pool water between 7.0 and 7.4.

Cleaning and Replacing Filter Media:

  1. Disconnect the mains plug from the pump.
  2. Remove the strainers in the inlet and outlet valves of the pool.
  3. Remove the filter chamber lid by turning it anti-clockwise.
  4. Clean the used filter cartridge or replace it if necessary. If dirt or deposits are on the bottom of the housing, rinse the housing with water.
  5. Put the bracket for the filter chamber lid back in its position and fasten it to the filter housing by turning it clockwise.
  6. Regularly check the filter cartridge for damage and replace it if necessary. It is recommended to replace the filter cartridge with a new one every two weeks.

Winter Storage and Long-Term Storage:

  1. Disconnect the mains plug from the pump.
  2. Remove the strainers in the inlet and outlet valves of the pool.
  3. Remove the filter cartridge.
  4. Unclip all the hoses.
  5. Dry all components with care.
  6. Store the filter pump in a dry place, out of reach of children. Storage temperature: 4-40 °C.

Troubleshooting:

  • Pump does not run: Check fuses, circuit breakers, electrical wires, motor, and water level.
  • Motor runs, but water flow is too low: Check hoses for kinks or damage, water level, filter cartridge, and pump output.
  • Pump loses capacity: Check water level, skimmer system, filter cartridge, and connections.
  • Filter does not clean pool: Adjust chlorine and pH levels, clean or replace filter cartridge, run pump longer, and clean the drain strainer.

Disposal: At the end of its long service life, the product should be disposed of as valuable raw materials. Proper recycling ensures that valuable recyclable materials are reused. Electronic devices should not be disposed of with household waste. They should be handed over to designated collection points for recycling.
