PLAYPLAY
To play with your Buttery, take it off the Flower Charger and
place it in the palm of your hand. Watch as your Buttery utters
its wings to show you how happy it is.
Remember that the more you play with and feed your Buttery
the happier it will be. If you don’t play frequently with your
Buttery it will get lonely, so always pay it attention.
FEEDINGFEEDING
Ensure your Flower Charger is switched on.
If you want to play with your Buttery you must
feed it rst. Do this by placing the Buttery on the Flower
Charger. Ensure it sits correctly on the ower as shown with
its tail above the logo sticker.
While feeding your Buttery it will utter its wings. When it

Overview

This document describes the "Little Live Pets" Butterfly, a toy designed to mimic the behavior of a real butterfly. It includes instructions for setup, operation, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The Little Live Pets Butterfly is an interactive toy that flutters its wings and responds to interaction, primarily through a "Flower Charger." The toy's behavior changes based on how much it is played with and "fed," indicating different emotional states such as lonely, content, happy, or joyful. It is designed to be held in the palm of a hand, where it will flutter its wings. The Flower Charger serves as both a charging station and a "feeding" mechanism, essential for the butterfly's operation and to initiate play. When left on the charger, the butterfly will eventually get sleepy and fall asleep, but can be woken up by removing it from the charger.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Source: The Flower Charger requires 2 x AA/LR06 batteries (not included).
  • Battery Type: Alkaline batteries are recommended.
  • Battery Usage Restrictions:
    • Do not use rechargeable batteries.
    • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
    • Do not mix different types of batteries, or new and used batteries.
    • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
    • Batteries should be replaced by an adult.
    • Batteries must be inserted with correct polarity.
    • Exhausted batteries must be removed from the product.
    • Supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
    • Batteries must be removed from the product when not in use.
    • Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
  • FCC Compliance: The device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules, indicating it may not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received. Users are cautioned against unauthorized changes or modifications. The equipment has been tested and found to comply with Class B digital device limits. Troubleshooting steps for interference include reorienting the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a radio/TV technician.
  • Age Recommendation: Suitable for ages 5+.
  • Safety Warning: Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts (choking hazard). Adult supervision is encouraged for young children. All packaging attachments should be removed before giving the product to a child.
  • Product Contents: 1 Butterfly, 1 Charger, 1 Instruction booklet.

Usage Features:

  • Feeding/Charging: To activate the butterfly for play, it must first be "fed" by placing it correctly on the switched-on Flower Charger. The butterfly's tail should be positioned above the logo sticker on the charger. While feeding, the butterfly will flutter its wings; when it stops, it's ready to play.
  • Playing: After feeding, the butterfly can be taken off the charger and placed in the palm of a hand, where it will flutter its wings to demonstrate its happiness. The more the butterfly is played with and fed, the happier it will be. Neglecting the butterfly will make it lonely.
  • Emotional States: The butterfly's fluttering speed and pattern indicate its mood:
    • Lonely: Flutters very fast with a jittery movement for around 30 seconds.
    • Content: Flutters quickly in a random pattern for around 40 seconds.
    • Happy: Flutters with a smooth medium-paced movement for around 50 seconds.
    • Joyful: Flutters with a slow smooth pace for around 60 seconds.
  • Sleeping: When left alone on the Flower Charger, the butterfly will occasionally flutter its wings to get attention before eventually getting tired and falling asleep. It can be woken up by removing it from the charger.
  • Holding the Butterfly: To hold the butterfly, gently pick it up with two fingers pinching the back of its body. Users are advised not to pick it up by its wings to avoid damage.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: If the butterfly's movement does not function properly, fresh batteries should be installed in the Flower Charger as shown in the instructions. This is the primary troubleshooting step for movement issues.
  • Troubleshooting - No Wing Movement:
    • Ensure the Charger is switched on.
    • Verify the Charger has fresh batteries inserted with correct polarity.
    • Ensure the butterfly is correctly positioned on the Charger, with its contacts lined up.
    • Give the butterfly a slight jiggle on the Charger to ensure contacts are fully touching.
  • Troubleshooting - Short Flutter Duration (off Charger):
    • Ensure the butterfly is allowed to feed for more than 10 seconds to charge its power source.
    • Replace Charger batteries if they are running flat.
  • Troubleshooting - Short Flutter Duration (on Charger):
    • This is described as a "secret little dance" where the butterfly flutters for only 10 seconds when quickly placed back on the charger. To observe normal wing behavior and mood, allow at least 5 seconds before placing the butterfly back on the Charger.
  • General Care: Dropping the toy may cause damage that prevents its functions. Retain packaging details for future reference as they contain important information. Colors and contents may vary.
