Loading an Encryption Key
ADVANCED FEATURES
Note: Refer to the key-variable loader (KVL) manual for
equipment connections and setup.
Procedure:
1. Attach the KVL to your radio.
The display shows Keyloading, and all other radio
functions, except for power down, backlight, and volume,
are locked out.
2. Select the required keys and press the Menu Select
button directly below LOAD on the KVL.
This loads the encryption keys into your radio.
When the key has been loaded successfully, you hear a
short tone for single-key radios.
OR
When the key has been loaded successfully, you hear an
alternating tone for multi-key radios.
