H550 Headset.

Your Headset's Battery
Verify slide switch is in the off position (toward
the charging port).
Plug the Motorola charger into the end of the
headset.
The indicator light turns red when the battery is
charging. It may take up to 1 minute for the
indicator light to turn on. When the headset's
battery is fully charged (about 2 hours), the
indicator light turns off.
Disconnect the charger.

Note: Headset is not functional while charging.
Note: For optimal performance, make sure that the
headset is off while charging.

START BLUETOOTH
FEATURE

Press (
Menu) > Settings > Connection >
Bluetooth Link > Setup.
Scroll to Power.
Select Change.
Scroll to On.
Press Select to turn on the Bluetooth
feature. The Bluetooth feature remains on
until you turn the feature off.
Note: These steps are for most Motorola phones.
For other phones, see your phone's user's guide.

Your phone's Bluetooth feature is off by default.

Before You Begin

Charge Your Headset's Battery

Verify slide switch position

Ensure the slide switch is in the off position towards the charging port.

Plug in charger

Connect the Motorola charger to the headset's charging port.

Disconnect charger

Remove the charger once the headset is fully charged.

Start Bluetooth Feature on Your Phone

Navigate to Bluetooth Setup

Access phone's Bluetooth setup via Menu > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth Link.

Enable Bluetooth Power

Navigate to Power, select Change, and set Bluetooth to On.

Pair Your Headset

Ensure Headset is in Pairing Mode

Slide Call button towards microphone; indicator light turns steadily blue.

Pair Your Phone

Set Phone to Find Headset

On phone, go to Menu > Settings > Connection > Bluetooth Link > Handsfree > Look for Devices.

Select Headset and Pair

Select Motorola H550, OK/Yes, and enter passkey 0000 to pair.

Test and Use

Place headset on ear

Position the headset over your ear.

Dial and send number

Dial a number on your phone and press SEND.

Verify connection

Listen for ringing on the headset to confirm successful pairing.

Using Your H550

Restore to factory settings

Press and hold Volume buttons and Call button for 10 seconds to erase pairing data.

Troubleshooting

Headset not entering pairing mode

Turn off other paired devices, then power cycle headset and try again.

Phone doesn't find headset

Ensure headset indicator light is steady blue while phone searches.

Headset stopped working

Verify phone's Bluetooth is on, restart Bluetooth, and re-pair headset.

Turning Headset On and Off

Turn headset on

Slide switch towards microphone; indicator light shows status.

Turn headset off

Slide switch towards charging plug; indicator light turns off.

Earhooks and Your Headset

Install an earhook

Attach earhook by opening, lifting, and hooking onto hinge pins.

Position for ear use

Adjust earhook for either right or left ear use.

Wearing the Headset

Attach desired earhook

Ensure the earhook is securely attached to the headset.

Place headset on ear

Open earhook 45 degrees, loop over ear, and press gently to fit.

Changing Volume Button Orientation

Adjust volume button orientation

Turn headset off, then press and hold a volume button while sliding the switch to adjust.

Making Calls

Receive a call

Tap the Call button to answer an incoming call.

Mute or unmute a call

Tap both Volume buttons to mute or unmute the microphone.

Reject a call

Press and hold a Volume button until two descending tones are heard.

End a call

Tap the Call button to end the current call.

Redial last call

Press and hold the Call button until two ascending tones are heard.

Make a voice dial call

Tap the Call button, then speak the name after the tone.

Making Calls Continued

Answer second incoming call

Tap the Call button to answer a second incoming call.

End active call and resume held call

Tap the Call button to end the active call and resume a held call.

Disable indicator light

Perform a specific button/switch combination to disable the indicator light.

Indicator Lights

Indicator lights with charger plugged in

Steady red indicates charging; Off indicates charging complete.

Indicator lights without charger

Lists light statuses like Power off, Powering up, Pairing, Connection successful, Incoming call, Low battery.

Audio Tones

Common audio tones

Lists tones for incoming calls, end call, mute enabled/disabled, low battery, and out of range.
