This document describes the Moulinex MO28MSWH microwave oven, a Group 2, Class B equipment designed for domestic household use. It generates radio-frequency energy for heating food and beverages.
Function Description:
The MO28MSWH microwave oven is primarily intended for heating food and beverages. It features a control panel with two selector knobs: a power selector knob and a timer selector knob. The power selector knob allows users to choose from various power levels, increasing clockwise and decreasing counterclockwise. The timer selector knob sets the cooking time, up to a maximum of 35 minutes per session. The oven automatically turns off and rings a bell once the set cooking time has elapsed. It also includes a defrosting by weight function, where users can select the defrosting time based on the food's weight. The oven's operation can be interrupted at any time by opening the door or setting the timer knob to "0" to check progress, turn/stir food, or allow it to rest.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Rated input (Microwave): 1450W
- Voltage: 230V~ 50Hz
- Microwave frequency: 2450MHz
- Maximum cooking time: 35 minutes
- Minimum free space above oven: 30 cm
- Minimum clearance on both sides: 20 cm
- Minimum surface height for installation: 850 mm above the floor
Usage Features:
- Power Levels: The oven offers several power levels for different cooking needs:
- 17% power: Soften ice cream
- 33% power: Soup stew, soften butter or defrost
- 55% power: Stew, fish
- 77% power: Rice, fish, chicken, ground meat
- 100% power: Reheat, milk, boil water, vegetables, beverage
- Turntable System: The oven is equipped with a glass tray and a turntable ring, which must always be used during cooking. Food and containers are placed on the glass tray. The glass tray should never be placed upside down or restricted.
- Safety Interlocks: The door mechanism includes safety interlocks that switch off cooking functions when the door is opened, preventing harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is crucial not to tamper with this mechanism.
- Utensil Compatibility: Only microwave-safe utensils should be used. Materials like aluminum foil (for shielding small areas, at least 2.5 cm from oven walls), browning dishes (following manufacturer's instructions, 5 mm above turntable), dinnerware (microwave-safe only, no cracks/chips), heat-resistant oven glassware (no metallic trim, no cracks/chips), oven cooking bags (no metal ties, slits for steam), paper plates/cups (short-term use, supervised), paper towels (for reheating/absorbing fat, supervised), parchment paper (to prevent splattering/for steaming), plastic (microwave-safe, labeled "Microwave Safe," slit/pierced/vented bags), plastic wrap (to retain moisture, not touching food), thermometers (microwave-safe meat/candy thermometers), and wax paper (to prevent splattering/retain moisture) are suitable.
- Forbidden Utensils: Aluminum trays, food cartons with metal handles, metal/metal-trimmed utensils, metal twist ties, paper bags, plastic foam, and wood should be avoided as they can cause arcing, fire, melting, or cracking.
- Food Preparation: Liquids and other foods should not be heated in sealed containers as they are liable to explode. Eggs in their shell and whole hard-boiled eggs should not be heated. Foods with intact shells or hard skin (e.g., chestnuts, tomatoes, potatoes, sausages) should always be slit. When heating liquids, always place a plastic spoon in the liquid to prevent delayed eruptive boiling and scalding. Contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars should be stirred or shaken, and temperature checked before consumption.
- Freestanding Use: The appliance is intended to be used freestanding and must not be placed in a cabinet. The rear surface should be placed against a wall.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Cleaning: The oven should be cleaned regularly to prevent smoke, bad odors, and sparking. Food deposits and grease should be removed from the oven cavity and door seal.
- Door and Interior Walls: Use a damp cloth to clean food deposits and grease between the door seal and oven cavity. Grease splashes from interior walls can be removed with soap and water, then rinsed and dried.
- Waveguide Cover: The light brown Mica cover inside the oven cavity, which protects the magnetron, must not be removed and should be kept clean. Accumulation of food or grease on it can cause sparking and damage the oven, voiding the warranty.
- Abrasive Cleaners: Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, sharp metal scrapers, or scouring pads on the oven door glass or interior surfaces, as they can scratch or damage the surfaces.
- Stainless Steel Surfaces: Only warm soapy water should be used to clean stainless steel surfaces.
- Outer Surfaces: Clean with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products. Ensure water does not seep into ventilation slots.
- Accessories: Wash accessories by hand in warm soapy water. Do not wash them in a dishwasher.
- Glass Tray: The glass tray should be cleaned regularly with warm soapy water and dried thoroughly for hygiene.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the oven not operating, not heating up, or the glass turntable making noise. Solutions include checking power connections, ensuring the door is closed, and cleaning dirty parts.
