The Skimmer Deluxe is a pool skimmer designed to draw water from the pool surface through a filtration device, effectively removing insects, leaves, and other floating debris. It traps these impurities in a screen for easy disposal. The skimmer is compatible with both 5/4" (32 mm) and 6/4" (38 mm) reinforced hoses, offering flexibility in connection to various filtration systems.
Function Description
The primary function of the Skimmer Deluxe is to maintain pool water cleanliness by continuously removing surface contaminants. Water from the pool surface is drawn into the skimmer, where a basket or screen captures debris. This process helps prevent the accumulation of organic matter that could otherwise lead to water quality issues. The skimmer works in conjunction with a filtration system, ensuring that the water is circulated and filtered efficiently.
Installation
Installation requires a cross-head screwdriver and a sharp knife. Before installing the pool liner, it is recommended to smooth out any sharp burrs from the pre-made holes for the skimmer and return nozzles in the pool wall.
Return Nozzle Installation:
- Install the pool liner and fill the pool until the water level is approximately 5 cm below the return nozzle's connection hole.
- From the outside of the pool wall, use a sharp knife to cut the foil from the circular return nozzle hole. The cut in the foil should be 5-10 mm smaller than the wall opening.
- Attach the hose connection to the return nozzle body, using Teflon tape for sealing (avoid glues or sealants).
- Insert the return nozzle into the wall's circular hole from the inside of the pool, ensuring one rubber seal is inside the pool and one cork and one rubber seal are outside. Tighten the return nozzle securely.
- Screw the directional end piece into the return nozzle body, aiming it away from the skimmer opening.
- Connect the return nozzle to the filtration device using hoses, securing connections with hose clamps. Adjust the inner ball of the nozzle to direct water flow away from the skimmer overflow hole, promoting optimal surface debris collection. The goal is to create a "rotating" water movement in the pool.
Skimmer Installation on Above-Ground Pool Wall:
- Fill the pool with water until the level is approximately 5 cm below the skimmer connection hole.
- From the outside of the pool wall, use a sharp knife to cut the foil from the rectangular skimmer connection hole. The cut in the foil should be 5-10 mm smaller than the wall opening.
- Insert the seal into the prepared hole, ensuring it covers both the wall plate and the foil. Use a sharp nail from the outside of the pool to pierce the foil in all openings for the skimmer body connection.
- Attach the hose connection to the skimmer body, using Teflon tape for sealing (avoid glues or sealants).
- Insert the flap into the skimmer body. Before installation, verify that the flap is correctly fitted to the skimmer inlet flange and moves freely.
- Place the skimmer body on the outside of the pool and the flange on the inside.
- Insert all 10 screws into the flange holes and gradually tighten them with a Phillips screwdriver.
- Attach the flange cover, orienting it as indicated (arrow and "TOP" facing up).
- Connect the skimmer to the filter unit with hoses, securing connections with hose clamps.
Usage Features
- Optimal Water Level: The ideal water level for the skimmer is at the center of its overflow hole.
- Daily Cleaning: The skimmer's screen should be cleaned daily to remove accumulated debris.
- Winterization: The skimmer must not freeze when filled with water. Before the first frost, the pool should be winterized according to the instructions in the pool manual.
Maintenance Features
-
Vacuum Cleaner Operation: A vacuum cleaner (not included with the skimmer) can be used to remove settled impurities from the pool bottom. The vacuum cleaner, connected to the skimmer, draws water through the pump to the filter, where impurities are trapped.
- Remove the skimmer's top cover. Set the filtration unit's valve to the "filtration" position and turn on the unit.
- Fill the vacuum cleaner hose with water (e.g., from the return nozzle).
- Submerge the free end of the hose and connect the plate. Wait for water to flow from the plate, then quickly insert the plate into the skimmer body, seating it firmly above the skimmer basket. Ensure the water column in the hose remains unbroken and the free end of the hose stays submerged.
- Connect the vacuum cleaner to the other end of the hose (which must also remain submerged).
- Begin vacuuming. Ensure the vacuum cleaner head remains submerged to prevent air from entering the suction. Move the cleaner slowly to avoid disturbing settled impurities.
- After vacuuming, disconnect the hose from the plate and remove the plate from the skimmer body.
- It is recommended to check the filtration unit's condition after cleaning and clean the filter if necessary.

Winter Preparation: Before freezing temperatures, follow the pool manual's instructions for winterizing the pool. Frost damage is not covered under warranty.
