Overview

This document describes the MP125 MP3 & Video Player from mp man, a compact and versatile multimedia device.

Function Description

The MP125 is primarily an MP3 and video player, but it also includes features for voice recording, text reading (e-book), and photo browsing. Its high integration results in a lightweight and comfortable-to-use device. The player supports various audio and video formats, and its built-in microphone allows for voice message recording.

Usage Features

The device features a user-friendly interface with a main menu offering 8 submenus for different functions. Navigation is done using directional buttons (Next/Forward, Previous/Backward) and a Menu [M] button for selection. Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down, and Power ON/OFF controls are also available.

Power ON/OFF:

  • Powering On: Turn the On/Off button to the "On" position.
  • Powering Off: Hold the Play/Pause key until the power-off animation begins, then turn the On/Off button to the "Off" position.

Recharging: The built-in Li-Polymer battery is rechargeable via a computer's USB port using the provided USB cable. It takes 2 to 3 hours for a full charge. An icon on the display indicates charging status.

Main Menu Navigation:

  • Use the Next/Forward [►►] or Previous/Backward [◄◄] buttons to select options.
  • Press the Menu [M] button to confirm selection.
  • To return to the main menu from a submenu, press and hold the Menu [M] button for a few seconds. A short press of the Menu [M] button usually opens submenu options.

Music Mode:

  • Select "Music" from the main menu.
  • Press Play [► II] to start playing the first available song.
  • Key Functions:
    • Play/Pause [► II]: Start, pause, or resume playback. Holding it down turns off the player.
    • REW & FFWD [◄◄ ►►]: Short press to select previous/next song. Hold down to rewind/fast forward.
    • Volume (VOL+ and VOL-): Increase or decrease volume.
  • Music Submenu (accessed by short pressing [M] during playback):
    • Local Folder: Browse and select folders to play.
    • Delete File: Delete a specific song.
    • Delete All: Delete all music files.
    • Repeat: Seven modes: Normal, Repeat One, Folder, Repeat Folder, Repeat All, Random, Intro.
    • Equalizer: Seven presets: Natural, Rock, Pop, Classic, Soft, Jazz, DBB.
  • A-B Repeat Function: Loop-play a specified interval of a song. Press [M] to set start point A, then [►►] to set end point B.
  • Lyric Display: Supports ".lrc" files with the same name and folder as the song. Hold [M] to activate/deactivate.

AMV Mode (Video Player):

  • Plays AMV format videos only; conversion from other formats is required.
  • Select "Movie" from the main menu.
  • Press Play [► II] to start playing the first available movie.
  • Key Functions: Same as Music Mode for Play/Pause, REW & FFWD, and Volume.
  • AMV Submenu (accessed by short pressing [M] during playback):
    • Local Folder: Browse and select folders to play.
    • Delete File: Delete a specific video.
    • Delete All: Delete all video files.
    • Repeat: Seven modes: Normal, Repeat One, Folder, Repeat Folder, Repeat All, Random, Intro.

Record (Voice Messages Recorder):

  • Records voice messages using the internal microphone.
  • Select "Record" from the main menu.
  • Press Play [► II] to start recording.
  • Recording Controls: Press Play [► II] to pause/resume. Hold Play [► II] / M to stop.
  • Record Submenu (accessed by short pressing [M] during recording):
    • Local Folder: Browse and select folders for recordings.
    • REC Type: Choose recording format (32K BPS/128K BPS).

Play (Voice Messages Player):

  • Plays recorded voice messages.
  • Select "Play" from the main menu.
  • Press Play [► II] to start playing the first available recording.
  • Key Functions: Same as Music Mode for Play/Pause, REW & FFWD, and Volume.
  • VOICE Submenu (accessed by short pressing [M] during playback):
    • Local Folder: Browse and select folders for voice files.
    • Delete File: Delete a specific voice file.
    • Delete All: Delete all voice files.
    • Repeat: Seven modes: Normal, Repeat One, Folder, Repeat Folder, Repeat All, Random, Intro.
    • Replay Mode: Loop-play a specified interval of a voice file.

E-Book:

  • Reads text files.
  • Select "E-book" from the main menu.
  • Use directional buttons to choose a file.
  • Press Play [► II] to start reading.
  • E-Book Submenu (accessed by short pressing [M] during reading):
    • Local Folder: Browse and select folders for text files.
    • Playback Set: Choose between manual or auto play. For auto play, set page display time (1-10 seconds).
    • Delete File: Delete a specific text file.
    • Delete All: Delete all text files.

Photo:

  • Browses JPG files.
  • Select "Photo" from the main menu.
  • Use directional buttons to choose a file.
  • Press Play [► II] to start browsing.
  • PHOTO Submenu (accessed by short pressing [M] during browsing):
    • Local Folder: Browse and select folders for photo files.
    • Playback Set: Choose between manual or auto play. For auto play, set picture display time (1-10 seconds).
    • Delete File: Delete a specific photo file.
    • Delete All: Delete all photo files.

System Set (Setup):

  • Accesses system settings.
  • Select "SYSTEM" from the main menu.
  • Use directional buttons to select parameters, press [M] to confirm.
  • Parameters:
    • Clock: Set system date and time.
    • LCD Set: Adjust brightness, darkness, and black screen.
    • Language: Set user interface language.
    • Power Off: Set off time (10s-200s) and sleep time (10s-120s) for automatic shutdown.
    • Memory Info: Check memory usage (total volume, used space percentage).
    • Firmware Ver: Check firmware version.
    • Firmware Upg: Upgrade firmware.

Maintenance Features

  • MPMANAGER Software: Supplied on CD-ROM for movie and music synchronization, conversion, and player updates. The MPMANAGER manual is also included on the CD-ROM.
  • Battery Recharge: Rechargeable via USB, ensuring continued operation.
  • Firmware Upgrade: Allows for updating the device's software.
