  If your MQ Multiquip Water Pump's engine won't start or the start is delayed, and the engine can be turned over, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the speed control lever is in the "START" position. Other potential causes include a defective fuel pump (replace it), a clogged fuel filter (replace the fuel filter and clean the tank), or a faulty fuel supply line (replace or repair it). Also, check if the compression is too low (inspect the piston, cylinder, and valves, adjusting or repairing as needed per the engine repair manual), the oil pressure is too low (check engine oil pressure), the low starting temperature limit has been exceeded (comply with cold starting instructions and use proper oil viscosity), or the battery is defective (charge or replace it).

Lastly, the mechanical oil pressure shutdown sensor might be stopping the engine due to low oil; in this case, add oil and replace the low oil shutdown sensor if necessary.

  If your MQ Multiquip Water Pump engine fires but stops as soon as the starter is switched off, check the following: Ensure the throttle lever is in the RUN position. A blocked fuel filter can cause this issue, so replace it. Also, check the entire fuel system for any blockages in the fuel supply. Lastly, an electrical problem at the fuel solenoid could be the cause; repair it using #7 wire.
