General Recommendations

Lubrication
1. Lubricatepivotpointson the bladecontrolhandleat
leastoncea seasonwithlightoil.Thebladecontrol
mustoperatefreelyinbothdirections.SeeFigure3.
2. Lubricatethewheelsat leastoncea seasonwith
lightoil (ormotoroil).If wheelsareremovedfor any
reason,lubricatesurfaceof the axle boltandinner
surfaceof thewheelwithlightoil.SeeFigure3.
3. Lubricatethetorsionspringandpivotpointonthe
chutedeflectorperiodicallywith lightoilto prevent
rust.See Figure3.
4. Followtheaccompanyingenginemanualfor lubrica-
tionscheduleandinstructionforenginelubrication.
Cleaning Mower
Clean underside ofthe mower deck after each
useto prevent build-up of grass clippings or other
debris. Follow steps below for this job.
1. Disconnectsparkplugwire.Draingasolinefromlawn
mower,or placea pieceof plasticunderthegascap
SeeFigure4.
2. Tipthe mowerso that it restsonthehousing.Keep
thesidewiththeaircleanerfacingup.Holdthe
mowerfirmly.
__1= ARNING: Never tip the mower
more than 90 degrees inany
directions and do not leave the
mower tipped for any length of
time. Oil can drain intothe upper
part ofthe engine causing a
starting problem.
3. Scrapeandcleanthe undersideof the deckwitha
suitabletool.Donotspraywithwater.
4. Putthemowerbackonitswheelsontheground.If
youhadput plasticunderthegas capearlier,make
sureto removeitnow.
