Starting Engine

to restarta warmengine.
2. Standingbehindthe mower,squeezethe bladecontrol
againstupperhandle.SeeFigure2.
3. Holdingthesetwo handlestogetherfirmly,grasp recoil
starterhandleand pullropeoutwitha rapid,continu-
ous,fullarm stroke.SeeFigure2. Keepinga firm
grip onthestarterhandle,let the roperewindslowly.
Repeatuntilenginecranks.Letthe roperewindeach
timeslowly.

Stopping Engine
1. Releasebladecontroltostoptheengineand blade.
2. Disconnectsparkplugwirefromsparkplugand
groundagainsttheengine.
UsingYour Lawn Mower

without eitherthe rear door or the entire
grass catcher assembly firmly secured.
Besurelawnis clearof stones,sticks,wire,or other
objectswhichcoulddamagelawnmowerorengine.
Suchobjectscouldbe accidentlythrownby the mower
in anydirectionandcauseseriouspersonalinjuryto the
operatorandothers.

Using as Mulcher
Formulchinggrass,removethe grasscatcherfromthe
mower.Thereardischargedoorshouldbeclosed.
1. Foreffectivemulching,do notcut wetgrass.
2. Newor thickgrassmayrequirea narrowercut.
Adjustgroundspeedaccordingtoconditionof lawn.
3. If thegrasshasbeenallowedto growinexcessof
4 inches,mulchingisnotrecommended.Usethe
grasscatchertobagclippingsinstead.
Using Grass Catcher
Youcanusethegrasscatcherto collectclippingswhile
youareoperatingthe mower.
