Attaching the Battery Cables

Thepositivecable(heavyredwire) is securedto the
positivebatteryterminal(+)witha hexboltandhex
nutatthefactory.Makecertainthatthe rubberboot
coverstheterminalto helpprotectitfromcorrosion.
Removethehexboltandwingnut(orhex nut)from
thenegativecable.SeeFig.3-1.
Removetheblackplasticcover,ifpresent,fromthe
negativebatteryterminalandattachthe negative
cable(heavyblackwire)to the negativebattery
terminal(-) withthe bolt andwingnut(or hexnut).
4. Makecertainthehold-downstrapisin positionover
thebattery,securingitin place.

dateshownon topof battery,chargethebatteryas
instructedin themaintenancesectionofthismanual

Gas and Oil Fill-up
Thegasolinetank islocatedunderthehoodandhasa
capacityof3 gallons.Donotoverfill.

beforeoperating.Becarefulnotto overfill.
