YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),and, forthoseproductscertifiedfor sale in the stateof California,the
CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedto explainthe emission(evaporativeand/orexhaust)controlsystem(ECS) warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlater smalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)InCalifornia,newoutdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand
equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates,1997andlater modelyearequipmentmustbedesigned,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S.EPAsmalloff-road, sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupInc mustwarrantthe ECSonyour outdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelistedbelowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofoutdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludepartssuchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Wherea warrantableconditionexists,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineatnocostto youincludingdiagnosis,partsand labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor two years. If anyemission-relatedpartonyour outdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the partwill berepairedor
replacedby MTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youare responsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedinyourowner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Increcommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyouroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInccannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydenyyouwarrantycoverageifyour outdoorequipment
engineor a parthasfaileddue to abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountof time, nottoexceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailathttp://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,built and equipped
so asto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpartto be identicalin all
materialrespectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedatetheoutdoorequipmentengineisdeliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.Thewarrantyperiodis two
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsis asfollows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat isnotscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssupplied,is warrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodofwarrantycoverage,thepart will berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledonlyfor regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodoftimebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the partwill berepairedorreplacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderof the periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor thepart.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationatno chargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedatallof our distributioncentersthatare franchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat isdirectlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc is liablefor damagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineand equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyof warrantedparts sufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargetothe owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbeliable towarrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
