Why is my Mustang HOUSTON not getting hot enough?
    • H
      Holly HernandezAug 18, 2025
If your Mustang Smokers isn't reaching the desired temperature, there could be several reasons. Ensure the temperature control knob is set high enough. Avoid opening the lid too often, as this lets heat escape. Add more pellets to the pellet chamber, and allow up to 7 minutes for them to reach the fire box. Critically, make sure to remove all unburned pellets and ash from inside and around the fire box, using a vacuum cleaner if possible, but only when the appliance is cold.

      peterbirdAug 20, 2025
If your Mustang Smokers isn't igniting, start by checking the power supply. Verify that the appliance is properly connected to a functioning electrical outlet. If the AC power cord is connected to an outlet, check and reset if necessary.

What to do if the LED screen on my Mustang Smokers won't light up?
    • J
      John LangAug 23, 2025
If the LED screen on your Mustang Smokers isn't lighting up, first ensure the temperature control knob is in the “OFF” position. Check that all wire connections are firmly connected. Confirm the appliance is plugged into a working outlet. Also, the fuse (5 amps) must be manually replaced if it has blown, or reset the residual-current device. Ensure you are NOT using an extension cord over 4 m in length.

Why are pellets not feeding into the fire box in my Mustang HOUSTON Smokers?
    • K
      Kevin WarrenAug 26, 2025
If pellets aren't being fed into the fire box of your Mustang Smokers, check if the pellet chamber is filled with pellets. If it's the first time you're using the appliance, or if it ran out of pellets, wait about 5 minutes for the pellets to move from the chamber to the fire box.

Why won't the electric element heat up on my Mustang Smokers?
    • A
      Alexandria RussellAug 28, 2025
If the electric element on your Mustang Smokers isn't heating up, ensure the plug is fully inserted into a 3-wire grounded outlet wired for 220 volts and protected at 7 or 10 amps. Check if the heat switch on the extension cord or fuse on the electric board has blown, and reset the switch or replace the fuse. If the element only heats up briefly after turning on, turn the temperature control knob to “OFF”, then turn the appliance on again. Also, replace the fuse if it has blown (Max fuse size: 5 x 20 mm, 5 amps).

A flashing temperature on the LED screen of your Mustang Smokers indicates that the appliance temperature is below 43 °C in SMOKE mode, so check the chamber for a blockage or sufficient amount of pellets or below 66 °C in COOK mode, so check the fire box for ash build-up or obstructions. Also, check the fan and the feeder screw motor to confirm operation and speed.
